Apple TV has offered its strongest indication yet that Ted Lasso could continue beyond its newly launched fourth season. Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of services, has suggested that the Emmy-winning comedy has enough story potential to justify another season, giving fans renewed hope for a Season 5 renewal.

The comments arrive just days after Ted Lasso returned for its fourth season on August 5, marking the show’s comeback after its original three-season run. Apple’s official announcement confirms that the new season brings Ted Lasso back to AFC Richmond, where he takes charge of a second-division women’s football team.

Eddy Cue Sees More Stories Ahead for Ted Lasso

In an interview with ScreenRant during the D23 Expo, Cue was asked about the possibility of Ted Lasso continuing after Season 4. His response was notably positive, saying,

“I hope so. It’s certainly good enough for that. So I think there’s plenty of stories to go on. We’ll show up. No worries.”

While Cue stopped short of confirming a fifth season, his comments indicate that Apple remains open to extending the series if the current chapter performs well. The company has not yet made an official Season 5 renewal announcement.

Season 4 also gives the series a new direction rather than simply recreating its original premise. Ted is now coaching the Lady Greyhounds, allowing the returning characters and new additions to explore a different side of AFC Richmond. Apple says the season follows the team as they learn to take risks and embrace opportunities they previously would have avoided.

Jason Sudeikis remains the star and executive producer, alongside returning cast members including Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt and Jeremy Swift. The fourth season consists of 10 episodes, with new installments arriving weekly through October 7.

For now, Cue’s comments should be viewed as an encouraging signal rather than confirmation. If Season 4 continues to attract strong audiences and positive reactions, however, Ted Lasso may have a clear path toward another season.
