Survivor has returned! Eighteen new castaways are in Fiji, hoping to win one of the best reality competition shows ever. The first episode of Survivor 47 kept everyone guessing.

It reminded us that you should never give up when there’s a chance to stay in the game. After a surprising first elimination, anything can happen this season.

Hosted by Jeff Probst, Survivor has entertained viewers since 2000. A group of castaways competes to outsmart, outplay, and outlast each other for a million-dollar prize and the title of Sole Survivor.

Now in its 47th season, Survivor continues to bring people together in the beautiful islands of Fiji.

When to Watch Survivor 47

Survivor 47 airs new episodes every Wednesday at 8:00 PM EST. Each episode is a packed 90-minute adventure!

Where to Watch Survivor 47

You can watch Survivor 47 every Wednesday on CBS. You can also stream it on Paramount+. There are two plans available for Paramount+.

The Paramount+ Essential plan is $7.99 a month with ads. The Paramount+ plan with SHOWTIME and no ads is $12.99 a month. Right now, Paramount+ offers a free week for both plans.

Tribes in Survivor 47

This season, Survivor 47 has three tribes. The blue tribe, Tuku, includes Caroline Vidmar, Gabe Ortis, Kyle Ostwald, Sue Smey, Terran TK Foster, and Tiyana Hallums.

The yellow tribe, Gata, includes Andy Rueda, Anika Dhar, Jon Lovett, Rachel LaMont, Sam Phalen, and Sierra Wright. The red tribe, Lavo, includes Aysha Welch, Genevieve Mushaluk, Kishan Patel, Rome Cooney, Solomon “Sol” Yi, and Teeny Chirichillo.

Opening Challenge Results

Jeff Probst welcomed eighteen excited castaways to Survivor 47, ready to play the game they love. In the first challenge, the castaways faced a test in the jungles of Fiji.

Two players raced under a muddy net into the jungle to retrieve two puzzle pieces from one of three obstacles.

Each pair had to get their pieces and then build a puzzle. The winning tribe earned supplies, including a pot, a machete, and flint. The Gata tribe, wearing yellow, surprised everyone by winning their supplies, even after starting off in last place.

First Twist of Survivor 47

As usual, Tuku and Lavo had the chance to earn their tribal supplies. Each tribe had to blindly select one castaway for a challenge, which was important since they did not know what they were choosing.

Aysha Welch volunteered for Lavo. TK Foster from Tuku won a game of rock, paper, scissors to represent his tribe.

In a change from past seasons, the Sweat vs. Savvy challenge was no longer in play. This time, it was a head-to-head race between TK and Aysha.

They had to search the jungle for keys. The first one to find the last key would unlock their supplies. After a late mistake by Aysha, TK won the race and earned supplies for Tuku.

Hidden Immunity Idols and Advantages

On the Tuku tribe, Gabe Ortis found a Beware Advantage clue while picking up a piece of wood. He didn’t want TK to see, so he hid it when TK stepped away. When Gabe opened the Beware Advantage, he discovered he had to dig up a box on the path.

He learned that he could not vote at Tribal Council until he had the idol. Gabe found the box and then learned he needed to get a key from some vines.

While trying to get the key, TK caught him. Gabe tried to convince TK that he was only looking for keys, not the Beware Advantage.

After connecting with Sue Smey, Gabe asked her to help him as he opened the box. Gabe learned he could keep the idol for one Tribal Council or keep looking for another one that would last for three Tribals. He chose to take the risk and find another box.

Early in the morning, Gabe broke the driftwood to get the key. He faced another decision: keep the idol for three Tribals or search for another idol that would last until the Final Five.

Gabe decided to keep the three Tribal Idol because it was already tough. Now, Gabe has a Hidden Immunity Idol and his vote back.

On the Lavo tribe, Rome took a risk to find the Hidden Immunity Idol. His tribe members knew he was away from camp, likely searching for an advantage.

Without reading the “Beware” part of the clue, Rome took it and ran. Like Gabe, he had to find a box with what he needed for the idol.

He planned to wait until night to search. While looking for driftwood, he had to use water to reveal his next clue, but Aysha caught him pretending not to know what he was doing.

Aysha now wanted Rome out. Rome continued his search, where the key was at the bottom of the tribe’s well.

He succeeded, but before he could unlock the box, his tribe caught him at the well. Even with the key, Rome did not find the Hidden Immunity Idol or keep his vote at the next Tribal Council.

First Immunity Challenge Winner

In the first Immunity Challenge, each tribe started in the water and had to paddle a boat in the ocean to collect three heavy boxes.

After that, they dragged the boxes through a net before building a puzzle. Besides immunity, they also played for a reward. The first two tribes to finish earned a Survivor tool kit.

The challenge did not go well. Jeff Probst said it was one of the worst starts to a challenge in Survivor history. The yellow tribe went off course, and the blue tribe flipped their boat. Lavo, the red tribe, finished first, winning immunity and the large toolkit. The competition was between Tuku and Gata.

While Gata worked on their puzzle, Andy Rueda ran into the jungle and nearly fainted. Medical staff had to check on him as the challenge continued. In the end, Tuku earned immunity and a small toolkit. The losing Gata tribe lost their flint and had to meet Jeff Probst at Tribal Council.

First Player Voted Out

After a tough performance and a shocking move from Andy, who turned on his ally Jon Lovett, it was time to make a decision.

At Gata beach, Andy tried to win back trust from his tribe because he was in danger of being voted out.

Jon felt he needed to protect himself since he did not fit in with the younger members of his tribe. The women and Sam were unhappy with Andy and saw Jon as a threat. To keep their tribe strong, they wanted to ensure the right decision was made.

After lighting a fire and settling into their new Tribal Council, the Gata Tribe spoke with Jeff Probst about what happened after their loss.

Early on, Sierra Wright said Anika Dhar was the leader. Meanwhile, Jon Lovett used his background as a presidential writer to talk himself out of trouble.

Andy admitted he felt like an outsider, which started at the beginning of the episode. He dropped his need to please everyone, but after Tribal Council, he might need to win back their trust.

By a vote of 5-1, Jon Lovett became the first castaway voted out of Survivor 47. Andy, Anika, Rachel, Sam, and Sierra voted for Jon, while Jon voted for Anika.

What’s Next for Survivor 47?

Next time on Survivor! The Gata Tribe must deal with their decision to keep Andy. Anika called Andy “toxic clingy boyfriend.” For Lavo, they realize that Rome is a lot to handle.

On Tuku, someone called them losers, and Sue looks angry. Will Andy help his tribe win, or will he be a liability?
