The popular manga Trillion Game by Riichirou Inagaki and Ryōichi Ikegami is temporarily pausing due to Ikegami’s health issues.

The hiatus was announced in Shogakukan’s Big Comic Superior magazine, with plans for the manga to resume on August 9.

Launched in December 2020, the series has grown significantly, boasting over 1.5 million copies in circulation and winning a Shogakukan Award in January.

The ninth volume was released in April, and Viz Media is set to publish the series in English starting this fall.

Trillion Game has also expanded into other media. It inspired a live-action series that aired in July 2023 on TBS and its affiliates, which Netflix began streaming worldwide in October.

Additionally, a television anime adaptation is scheduled to premiere in Japan in October. Fans can also look forward to a film based on the live-action series, slated for release in 2025.

The manga tells the story of two former schoolmates, Haru and Gaku, who reunite to achieve a grand ambition: to earn a trillion dollars.

Haru, a charismatic and persuasive speaker, and Gaku, a talented but socially awkward programmer, combine their unique skills to pursue this ambitious goal and explore various challenges and adventures along the way.
