The upcoming fantasy anime Romelia War Chronicle has released its first full trailer, offering fans their first look at the series in motion ahead of its October 2026 debut. Alongside the trailer, the production committee confirmed four additional voice cast members and shared new comments from the actors, providing fresh insight into the adaptation of Ryo Ariyama’s popular fantasy novel.
Originally published on Shōsetsuka ni Narō, Romelia War Chronicle—officially titled ROMELIA SENKI -MAOU O TAOSHITA ATO MO JINRUI YABASO DAKARA GUNTAI SOSHIKI SHITA-—has steadily grown into a successful multimedia franchise. Combined sales of the original novel and manga adaptation have surpassed 550,000 copies, with the anime set to introduce the postwar fantasy story to an even wider audience.
First trailer introduces Romelia’s new beginning
The newly released trailer opens with Prince Henri’s shocking declaration,
“I am breaking off our engagement with you,”
setting the stage for Romelia’s journey after humanity’s victory over the Demon King.
Rather than celebrating peace, Romelia returns to a homeland devastated by war, choosing to rebuild society by raising an army, restoring the economy, and confronting new political conspiracies. The preview also marks the first time viewers can hear the anime’s principal cast in their roles.
The series is scheduled to stream as a split two-cour anime beginning in October 2026, with animation produced by Atra. Koji Saito directs the series, while Aya Satsuki handles series composition. The soundtrack is composed by KOHTA YAMAMOTO, whose previous works include several acclaimed anime productions.
The production has also announced Shoya Chiba as Gran, Gakuto Kajiwara as Ragn, Shun Horie as Kyle, and Ryunosuke Watanuki as Otto.
Shoya Chiba praised the story’s grounded approach, saying,
“This story features no convenient miracles. Romelia is a compelling protagonist who possesses both passion and cool composure.”
He also revealed that he and Gakuto Kajiwara worked closely to make the twin brothers Gran and Ragn sound convincingly alike during recording.

Kajiwara echoed that sentiment, joking that the cast repeatedly commented,
“You two sound so much alike,”
while expressing hope that viewers would enjoy watching the twin brothers’ dynamic.
Meanwhile, Shun Horie described the recording sessions as feeling like
“an actual battlefield,”
explaining that the talented cast pushed each other to deliver stronger performances every week. Ryunosuke Watanuki added that he is excited for fans to meet Otto, describing the gentle giant as a dependable supporter of Romelia’s growing squad.
Alongside the newly announced cast, the anime stars Yuna Nemoto as Romelia Von Graham, Jin Ogasawara as Al, Tomohiro Ono as Ray, Yuya Hirose as Henri, Sayaka Sembongi as Elisabeth, Mariya Ise as Ekaterina, and Asaka as Ryoki.
The first trailer offers a promising glimpse at a fantasy story that begins after the traditional “defeat the Demon King” ending, focusing instead on rebuilding a broken kingdom and the difficult choices that follow victory.
