Dominik Mysterio started appearing in WWE alongside his father in 2019. While they had success as a tag team, Dominik faced challenges early on. Fans and critics compared him to his legendary father, Rey Mysterio, and Dominik couldn’t quite live up to those expectations.
Finding His Own Path
In 2022, Dominik turned on his father, joining the Judgment Day faction. This separation allowed Dominik to break free from his father’s shadow and develop his own identity. Under the guidance of Rhea Ripley, Dominik became a hated villain and a successful wrestler in his own right.
Dominik is currently recovering from an arm injury. The recent WWE Draft placed both him and Rey on the same brand again. It remains to be seen if WWE will revisit their father-son rivalry, but one thing is clear: separating from his dad allowed Dominik to find success on his own terms.
He carved out his own space in the wrestling world and established himself as a talented performer with a bright future ahead.
