Streaming giant Netflix officially confirmed the production and principal casting lineup for a new original crime thriller series titled Maderesa.
The announcement highlights a fresh lead ensemble comprising Nana, Kim Dan, and Jung Geon Ju. Centered on a cold-blooded criminal psychologist and university professor who consults on high-profile, unsolved murder cases that have shaken society, the drama explores the psychological tension and shifting emotional currents that emerge as long-buried truths surface.
Character Dynamics and Complex Relationships
The core plot revolves around three central figures whose professional and personal connections grow increasingly complicated as the investigations progress:
- Maderesa (Nana): A cold, brilliant criminal psychologist and professor who confronts and interrogates criminals directly to solve cold cases, while simultaneously grappling with her own past trauma.
- Park Seol (Kim Dan): Maderesa’s long-time teaching assistant who aids in the cold case investigations while harboring hidden secrets behind an innocent smile and seeking Maderesa’s attention.
- Yu A Ram / Yoo Ah Ram (Jung Geon Ju): A prosecutor and Maderesa’s longtime friend who supports her investigative work while remaining deeply suspicious and wary of Park Seol’s true motives.
