The King of the Ring tournament gets hotter this week with the quarterfinals on SmackDown! The finals are set for the upcoming WWE King and Queen of the Ring PLE in Saudi Arabia.
Two exciting matches are scheduled for SmackDown. LA Knight will take on Bloodline member Tama Tonga, while NXT standout Carmelo Hayes faces veteran star Randy Orton. The winners advance to the semifinals.
King of the Ring Heats Up
Hayes, a top prospect from NXT, was recently drafted to SmackDown. On his first night, he impressed everyone with a great showing against the Undisputed WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes. Hayes is confident and believes he’s destined for greatness.
Before his SmackDown clash against the legendary “Apex Predator” Randy Orton, Hayes declared on social media that he was ready for the challenge. He feels comfortable facing a top star like Orton, comparing it to being in his “comfort zone.”
A victory over a future WWE Hall of Famer like Orton would be a massive achievement for Hayes. It would be a huge step forward in his journey and bring him closer to winning the prestigious King of the Ring crown.
