The highly anticipated Kinnikuman Perfect Origin Arc, the latest animated adaptation of the iconic Kinnikuman shonen action manga, reaches into the origins of the beloved superhero. Suguru Kinniku, also known as Kinnikuman, discovers his royal lineage as the missing prince of the planet Kinniku, renowned for producing the universe’s greatest superheroes.
Despite his clumsy and comical nature, Kinnikuman must prove his worthiness to claim the throne. In his quest for recognition, Kinnikuman enters wrestling competitions and combats evil Chojin, facing off against formidable foes such as Kinnikuman Big Body, Soldier, Zebra, Mariposa, and Super Phoenix.
Along the way, many of Kinnikuman’s allies, initially appearing as villains or arrogant heroes, join his cause, collectively known as Chojin.
Set to premiere in Japan on July 7, 2024, the series will air on Chubu-Nippon Broadcasting and Tokyo Broadcasting System networks, followed by broadcasts on BS11 and Animax. Additionally, the anime will be available to stream on Netflix in Japan.
Excitingly, the production has announced three new cast members: Toshiyuki Morikawa as Akuma Shogun, Tetsu Inada as Sunshine, and Yuichi Nakamura as Kinnikuman Super Phoenix.
Originally serialized in Shueisha publications since 1979, Kinnikuman, also known as Ultimate Muscle in English, has charmed audiences with its thrilling adventures.
Directed by Akira Sato at Production I.G, Kinnikuman Perfect Origin Arc promises to deliver an exhilarating journey into the superhero’s past, with Makoto Fukami handling the series composition, Hirotaka Marufuji overseeing character designs, and Yasuharu Takanashi providing the musical score.
