My Journey To You ended on a cliffhanger, raising a lot of questions about Wu Feng and opening a major possibility for a second season. My Journey to You is a romance drama about Yu Wei Shan, a Wufeng mercenary on a mission to break into the Gong family. She departs for Jiuchen Valley in order to become a potential wife after receiving the word that she will be allowed to leave Wufeng after Yu Wei Shan completes her task.
After reaching there, she finds it difficult to go through with her plan while betraying Gong Zi Yu, the Gong family’s loving and carefree Sword Wielder heir. These two lost people get caught in a world of wicked lies and perilous plans as they try to form a beautiful relationship.
There is a war between the Gong Men and the Wu Feng clan. Assassins from the Wufeng sect have been divided into assassins and teacher hierarchies. In order to break into the Gong family during the bride-choosing process, the new criteria for Wufeng assassins was that they had to be women. Based on their skills, Wufeng assassins are divided into four levels.
Gong Men vs. Wu Feng
The story of My Journey To You finally starts wrapping up and giving some answers beginning in Episode 22. Amid Gong Men’s Sword wielder and ascension and bride selection ceremony, Wu Feng attacks. Shangguan Qian provided Wu Feng with a map of Gong Men and information about the weaknesses of different members. Turns out that this was all part of Gong Men’s plan.
Yun Wei Shan, Gong Shang Jue, and Gong Zi Yu teamed up to reveal out Yun Wei Shan’s identity as a Wu Feng spy to create the illusion that the brothers were having an internal conflict. With the knowledge that Shangguan Qian was a spy, this was all done to lure We Feng to attack so they could defeat them once and for all.
Despite that, Wu Feng is strong, and while all four of Wu Feng’s top-level assassins are eliminated, Gong Men suffered serious injuries and a few deaths.
Murder Mysteries Solved
After the fight was over, it was found that the blueprint for infinite heat, a powerful weapon similar to a nuclear bomb, had been stolen.
Based on some prior suspicions, the Gong family members confirmed the eldest brother, Gong Huan Yu. He is caught red-handed and reveals that he is the mastermind behind the recent Gong Men murders. His goal was to use infinite heat to destroy Wu Feng, but the previous sword wielder and elders both opposed it.
The sword wielder even wanted to declare Gong Shang Jue as the new heir. Frustrated, Huan Yu made a plan to pressure Gong Men into activating infinite heat.
Huan Yu’s Master Plan
First, he used an extremely rare herb to save the Gong Men’s medicine maker’s son in exchange for the medicine maker swapping out the Sword Wielder’s herb elixir, thus leaving him vulnerable to poison. Huan Yu then wrote a letter under the name of Wu Feng, blackmailing Lady Wu Ji, Wu Feng’s ex-Assassin Anonymous.
On the bride selection day, Huan Yu leaked news that Wu Feng knew about infinite heat. So Gong Shang Jue was sent away to investigate. Huan Yu then told his father and faked his own death while making it seem like Wu Feng was behind the murder.
Behind the scenes, Huan Yu had Wu Ji kill another elder, under the name of Wu Feng, to further pressure the elders into believing that Gong Men was at risk. He then had Lady Wu Ji give Yun Wei Shan a box with the secret weapon that would kill her, thinking that Zi Yu would certainly get revenge on Wu Feng if he thought they killed Yun Wei Shan.
Once all was done, he tried to kill Lady Wu Ji so no one would know of his evil doings. And pretended to have been captured by her. Blaming all of the events on Wu Feng.
While Wu Feng and Gong Men were battling, Huan Yu stole the tablet with the infinite heap blueprint. However, the other half of the blueprint is tattooed on the back of the sword wielder. So Huan Yu goes after Yun Wei Shan to use her to get Zi Yu to assist him in activating infinite heat. Yun Wei Shan and Zi Yu team up and defeat Huan Yu.
Shangguan Qian, meanwhile, snatches the tablet and runs away. Gong Shan Jue catches her, but when she whispers in his ear that she is pregnant, he lets her go after having secretly retrieved the tablet.
My Journey To You Ending
At the end of My Journey To You, Gong Zi Yu broadcasts to the world that Fortnite flies are not poison, so those being controlled by Wu Feng can be free. He throws Huan Yu in prison and reconciles with his other brothers.
Gong Zi Shang and Jin Fan finally end up as a happy couple. Gong Shang Jue misses Shangguan Qian, but it’s not clear what happened to her after she left.
Gong Zi Yu and Yun Wei Shan are happily together. She reads a letter from her handler, Han Ya Si, that she truly is the daughter of the Yun family and has a twin in Lishi town. Wei Shan then goes off to find her sister but runs into the Wu Feng leader there.
Back at the Gong residence, Zi Yu is waiting for Yun Wei Shan but is disheartened when the days pass, and she still has not returned. We then hear the sound of the door opening, and the drama ends.
My Journey To You Ending Explained
So, at the end of My Journey To You, the murder mystery is solved, but the story behind Wu Feng is not fully answered. What we do know is that the leader of Wu Feng is believed to be Dian Zu (Leader of the Qing Feng Sect).
The martial arts of the Qing Feng Sect are from the 4th family in the Gong residence hill, the Feng family, which disappeared years ago. This also explains why Wu Fung knows about infinite heat, Fortnite flies, and various Gong family techniques. The ending does leave some opportunity for a season 2, so we’ll see how things go.
My Journey To You Review
The airdrop of this drama came as an unpleasant surprise. This “darker” wuxia romance drama sets itself apart from other contemporary wuxia dramas by its distinctive shots and strategic placement for viewers. Compared to a regular drama, it has greater cinematic aspects in both the storyline and the direction.
If you have seen any of Guo Jing Ming’s films, you might detect a similar aesthetic—it has a strong character setup and story and is pleasing to the eyes.
However, when it counts, it lacks substance, leaving some gaps that need to be filled in and me wanting more. While Guo Jing Ming was able to give additional insight into the characters and environment in “My Journey to You,” there were obvious flaws that weren’t as striking as his prior works.
The lack of depth and consideration given to the lead characters, Yun Wei Shan and Gong Zi Yu, was the most crucial element that would have made the drama unforgettable. So it’s difficult for me to express how I feel about this one.
Even though “My Journey to You” has an intriguing world of storytelling and idea, it’s difficult to get sucked in. It occasionally appears to make a great deal of effort to be a smart, intriguing, and edgy drama with characters meant to be cunning. There are, however, very few situations where there is genuine suspense.
Although it could be expected that the Wufeng elements would keep viewers on their heels, the plot actually develops more slowly, like a mystery, and relies heavily on flashbacks in order to fully understand those involved and their stories.
Although Yun Wei Shan takes a more calculated emotional approach, both female Wufeng operatives appear to rely on a poor “honey trap” strategy. It gets boring to watch them both keep up the same act, trying to get away every time with tears or a gloomy expression.
