Fans had anticipated a slower pace, allowing for a satisfying conclusion for each character. However, recent developments suggest that the Todoroki family still faces significant challenges, particularly with the fate of Dabi, who may still be alive.
In My Hero Academia chapter 390, Shoto Todoroki defeats Dabi in a fierce battle. Dabi’s condition deteriorated due to Shoto’s Great Glacial Aegir, which caused him to freeze from the inside out.

He was subsequently taken away by recovery robots, leading many fans to believe he had died. However, chapter 425 hints at his survival.
The chapter features Yuga Aoyama announcing his departure from U.A. High School. When Izuku Midoriya inquires if Shoto will attend Aoyama’s farewell party, Shoto agrees, provided it doesn’t conflict with his plans. Despite Deku’s concern for Shoto’s well-being, Shoto assures him that he is fine before heading off in a different direction.
A pivotal scene then shows Shoto’s father, Endeavor, seated in a wheelchair before a massive machine. The chapter hints that the Todoroki family is still grappling with Dabi’s fate, suggesting that the machine might be keeping Dabi alive on life support. Although Dabi survived his previous ordeal, he remains critically ill.
