A sequel for the television anime based on Hajime Kōmoto’s Mashle: Magic and Muscles manga has been officially green-lit, announced at a special event on Sunday. The event also premiered a teaser video for the upcoming sequel.

The first season of the anime premiered in Japan in April 2023. It was streamed on Crunchyroll with an English dub available. The second season started airing on January 6. The entire anime project is billed as a “complete” adaptation of the manga.

Tomonari Tanaka directed the first anime season at A-1 Pictures, with Yousuke Kuroda handling the series scripts and Hisashi Higashijima designing the characters. Masaru Yokoyama composed the music.

The manga is available digitally in English through Viz Media’s Shonen Jump and Shueisha’s MANGA Plus services. Viz Media also publishes the manga in print.

According to Shueisha, the manga is set in a reality where magic is omnipresent, but in a remote forest, a young man spends his time training and building his muscles. Incapable of using magic, he lives peacefully with his father until one day his life is threatened.
