NEXON has rolled out the latest MapleStory: Idle RPG update, bringing the long-awaited Cygnus Knights to the mobile idle RPG. Released on July 24, the update introduces two playable classes—Wind Archer and Night Walker—alongside new progression events, a tougher Horntail boss raid, valuable rewards, and several quality-of-life additions designed to help both new and returning players strengthen their characters.

Inspired by the classic MapleStory universe, MapleStory: Idle RPG combines nostalgic locations, familiar classes, and recognizable monsters with an idle gameplay system that allows characters to continue progressing even while players are offline. The latest update builds on that foundation by expanding class choices and introducing multiple limited-time events that reward consistent play with leveling materials, boosters, and exclusive equipment.

Cygnus Knights arrive with Wind Archer and Night Walker

The headline feature of the update is the debut of the Cygnus Knights in MapleStory: Idle RPG. Players can now choose between two iconic classes, each offering a distinct combat style.

The Wind Archer channels the power of the spirit Storm, using wind-based attacks to overwhelm enemies from a distance. Meanwhile, the Night Walker is a thief-class character empowered by the spirit Darkness, specializing in shadow-based abilities and swift offensive attacks. Their arrival gives players additional ways to customize their party and experience different playstyles.

New events accelerate progression and reward daily play

To celebrate the update, NEXON has introduced several limited-time events focused on character growth. A Character Growth Event, running until September 23, offers an event pass filled with progression rewards for newly created characters. The event is split into two level ranges—30 to 70 and 70 to 100—granting growth materials as players reach milestone levels. Rewards include Growth Potions, which instantly increase a character’s level when used at eligible stages.

The Daily Burning Field Booster Event, available until August 12, rewards players with Burning Field Boosters based on their character level. Activating a booster spawns exclusive monsters across the screen, allowing players to earn large amounts of experience points by defeating them.

Beginning August 1, the new Monthly Attendance Event will reward players for completing daily missions over a 28-day period. Rewards include Companion Summoning Tickets, Regular Potential Cubes, Burning Field Boosters, and a random Legendary Artifact on the final day of attendance.

The update also expands the Horntail Boss Raid by adding a Chaos difficulty. Players who conquer the tougher encounter can earn the new Chaos Horntail Necklace along with additional growth resources, providing another endgame objective for dedicated players.

MapleStory: Idle RPG is available now on iOS and Android, with the Cygnus Knights update live worldwide.
