South Korean veteran vocalist Lee So-ra is officially making her highly anticipated return with a brand-new single this July.
Her agency, Marehim Entertainment, confirmed the exciting news, marking the legendary singer’s first solo track under her own name in approximately seven years.
Bridging a Long Hiatus
Lee So-ra’s last official solo release was her massive January 2019 hit single “Song Request”, which featured SUGA of BTS.
The track dominated domestic and international charts at the time.
Since then, she hasn’t been completely absent from the music scene- she has lent her famously deep, comforting, and resonant vocals to several soundtracks for popular dramas, including Encounter (2018), Hospital Playlist (2020), and Mount Jiri (2021).
However, this upcoming July track represents her long-awaited return to her core solo discography.
A Message to Awaiting Fans
The news comes hot on the heels of her recent live performances, specifically her 2026 Lee Sora Eighth Spring Concert- Spring Maze held this past May, where she reconnected intimately with her audience.
Reflecting on her upcoming music, Lee So-ra shared a heartfelt message through her agency:
“It’s been a long time since my last release, and it gives me fresh feelings.
I hope many people will listen to it. I sincerely thank everyone who has been waiting, and I promise to sing more frequently in the future, so I hope you will continue to watch with interest.”
A Legendary Legacy
For long-time fans of Korean music, Lee So-ra is irreplaceable.
She initially stepped into the industry in 1993 as part of the vocal group Strange People (also known as Strangers) before debuting as a solo artist in 1995 with her iconic hit “I Am Happy.”
Over the decades, she has solidified her status as one of South Korea’s most emotionally profound vocalists, delivering timeless classics like “Proposal,” “Please,” “Don’t Leave Me,” and her iconic 2004 masterpiece “The Wind Blows.”
The exact release date and title of the new single have not yet been announced, but it is slated to drop on all major online music platforms sometime in July.
