AEW President Upset Over Talent Move
Dragon Lee, formerly part of the Los Ingobernables group in AEW, signed with WWE in 2022. Konnan had previously granted Dragon Lee and his brother tag team titles in AEW. Konnan says he informed Tony Khan about the situation after the title win.
According to Konnan, Tony Khan was upset about the situation. Konnan claims Khan accused him of being disloyal and questioned why he’d work with someone going to WWE. Konnan denied any wrongdoing.
Konnan also alleges that Tony Khan banned AEW talent from watching the 2023 Royal Rumble, which is a major WWE event. This was reportedly because Cody Rhodes, a former AEW star, was returning to WWE at the event.
