Haruka Fukuhara, known to anime fans as Tsubame Koyasu in Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, has married Japanese professional soccer player and national team star Takefusa Kubo. The couple announced the news on October 2 through matching posts on their respective Instagram accounts, sharing a photograph together and a joint statement.

The announcement came as a surprise because the couple’s relationship had not been publicly reported beforehand. Their posts quickly attracted millions of likes and thousands of comments from fans and colleagues.

FUKUHARA AND KUBO SHARE THEIR MESSAGE

In their joint statement, the couple thanked the people who had supported them since childhood and said they hoped to build a family together.

They wrote that they would “never forget our gratitude” and wanted to “support each other” while building a warm, happy home filled with smiles.

Fukuhara began working as a child performer and has since built a career across anime, television and film. Her anime credits include Tsubame Koyasu in Kaguya-sama: Love Is War and Himari Arisugawa/Cure Custard in Kirakira Precure a la Mode. She has also performed theme songs for anime including Boruto: Naruto Next Generations.

Kubo, 25, plays for Real Sociedad in Spain’s La Liga and represents Japan internationally. He was also part of Japan’s squad at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. 

The marriage announcement marks a new chapter for both Fukuhara and Kubo, with both continuing their respective careers in entertainment and professional football.
