One of the most popular action crime TV shows, that has successfully managed to keep the audience hooked through every episode is the 2013 TV show The Blacklist. A show which is famous for its action-packed storyline, twists, turns, mind games & of course, everyone’s favorite Raymond Red Reddington. As we all know, Raymond Reddington (played by James Spader) is one of the most important and crucial characters of the show.
He is an ex-Navy officer who went rogue and became one of the most wanted international criminals. After evading law enforcement for several years Raymond surprisingly surrendered himself to the FBI so, in return, he could work with rookie FBI agent Elizabeth Keen. And this marks the beginning of Reddington’s journey as a highly intelligent criminal who is now out to hunt down some of the world’s most dangerous criminals.
The Blacklist currently has about 9 seasons. And throughout these 9 seasons, all the characters of the show have gone through a lot. Especially Raymond, Liz, and her husband Tom Keen. But what came as the biggest shock for the fans was when “Ryan Eggold’s” character Tom Keen met with his bitter fate in season 5, where Tom was killed by Ian Garvey (one of the villains of The Blacklist), who stabbed Tom and killed him during season 5, episode 8 of The Blacklist.

Tom Keen was one of the most interesting and complex characters of The Blacklist. He is the one who added emotional value to Liz’s life. He was Liz’s husband, a man who always stood beside her wife no matter what the circumstances were. Tom had a really rough childhood. He was kidnapped and separated from his family at a very early age.
After being kidnapped, he was recruited by an underground spy trainer named “Major”. Later in his life, when Tom became an adult, he was recruited by Raymond Reddington to spy on Liz. To keep Raymond updated on Liz. But things didn’t go as Raymond had planned and Tom fell in love with Liz, and both got married.

Now fast forward to Season 5 Episode 8, where Tom finally learns about the secret of the “bag of bones”. A secret that Raymond never wanted to come out, a secret that could change everything. But Tom wanted Liz to know the secret of these bones as it holds the secret of Raymond & her mother’s death.
But fate played a game when Ian Garvey kidnaps both Liz and Tom. And stabs him multiple times until Raymond and his team arrive to save them. A fight begins from the sides, but ultimately, Raymond’s team defeats the villains, and Ian gets away. Liz and Tom are rushed to the hospital, where Tom is in critical condition.
The story flashes forward 10 months ahead, when Liz finally wakes up from her coma, only to hear from Raymond that Tom has died. Tom expressed his love for Liz during those final moments before he finally left this world. This makes Liz emotional. Tom Keen was a really important character in the show, but unfortunately, his fate met with a bitter end & he died in season 5 episode 8 of The Blacklist.
