Greenland (2020) is an action thriller post-cataclysm survival movie, released on July 29, 2020, and directed by Ric Roman Waugh. The movie plots around a post-apocalyptic, world-ending situation, where a comet is about to bash onto Earth’s surface.
While John Garrity, played by “Gerard Butler” tries to find his family refuge and survive the devastating blow, the plot progresses with his family’s treacherous journey in this post-catastrophic world. The movie begins with a showcase of John Garrity’s life and family’s habits, where his family is seen having a normal morning breakfast, but the pair later works on resolving their relationship issues.
A news flash of breaking news is being broadcast on the screen, about a calamity about to occur on the planet. Although John’s family gets picked for the refuge provided by the government during natural disasters, the movie embarks on the journey to reach Greenland, where the refuge is located.
Survival situation worsens, as the family faces several obstacles to reach their refuge. The fabric of the society begins to fall apart, while every citizen retaliates against the government as only selective people are announced capable of refuge.

Later, due to the chaos between the crowds, John and his family are set apart in the rush at the “Robins Air Force Base”, although the family members later reunite after numerous circumstances, before getting to sanctuary.
Wayfeild Foods, Greenland:
Before the apocalyptic event, John and his son Nathan are shown spending time with each other, as Nathan’s birthday is coming close. Nathan later shows a drawing to his dad about a comet coming close to Earth, naming it Clark.
The TV shows broadcast continuously about the incoming comet, and how pieces of the comet could hit Earth, later saying that was no reason to worry; the media didn’t fully understand the impact it would cause.
When John is asked to visit the store, by his wife Allison, he takes his son Nathan with him to the store, while in the parking lot of “Wayfeild Foods, Greenland” they see airplanes flying all over the sky, as if something big is about to happen.
While picking up supplies in the “Wayfeild Foods store”, John gets notified with a presidential alert on his cell phone how his family is selected for the refuge, as a catastrophic event is about to happen.
Conyers, Georgia, USA:
The director decided to film, several scenes in the “Georgia International Horse Park” in “Conyers”. The director commented on having a great time in this location during the filming of the movie “Greenland.”
Several scenes were shot in “Georgia International Horse Park, Conyers”; the park provided the necessary structure for shooting a post-apocalyptic film, as the survival part of a post-apocalyptic movie, required the natural landscapes, waterways, and barns for the filming.
The park contains several acres of natural landscapes. The park also harbors a stadium, and arena along with banquet rooms for film production.
