Yeh Shuhua, a member of the popular K-pop group (G)I-DLE, has officially achieved a significant career milestone as an actress.
Her feature film debut, titled “Happy and Joyful Days” (also translated as “Happily Ever After”), has been selected for the Special Presentations program at the 51st Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), set to take place from September 10 to September 20, 2026.
Recognized as the largest film festival in North America, TIFF’s Special Presentations section curates high-profile cinematic releases from acclaimed filmmakers and standout talent worldwide.
By premiering in this section, Shuhua follows in the footsteps of celebrated Asian cinema milestones previously invited to the same category, including Bong Joon-ho’s “Mother” and “Parasite,” as well as Park Chan-wook’s “The Handmaiden.”
Directed by award-winning filmmaker Fiona Roan Feng-i- who previously swept awards at the Golden Horse Awards with her debut feature “American Girl”- the film delves into a tender, family-centered story.
The narrative centers on two sisters with contrasting personalities whose routine daily lives undergo a quiet transformation after an unexpected encounter with a stray cat.
In the film, Shuhua portrays Lin Jiaqi, the bright and innocent youngest daughter.
As the story unfolds, her character navigates shifting family dynamics and deep personal reflection, growing into a multidimensional role that marks her first full-scale silver screen endeavor.

The group is slated to perform at Lollapalooza in Chicago on July 31, 2026, before concluding their world tour with the “2026 (G)I-DLE WORLD TOUR [Syncopation] IN MACAU” at the Galaxy Arena on August 29 and 30.
