A recent incident involving ENHYPEN has raised serious concerns about the ongoing privacy issues K-pop idols face due to sasaeng fans. On September 4, as the group returned to Korea after their schedules in China, a disturbing situation unfolded when their flight details were compromised.
It was discovered that a Chinese sasaeng fan had illegally obtained personal information to assign specific seats for ENHYPEN members on their flight.
While attempting to change the members’ seats, ENHYPEN’s staff found that some members were unable to select their seats. Upon investigation, Air China confirmed that someone had already created passenger profiles using the personal details of certain ENHYPEN members.
A Chinese phone number was linked to these profiles, making it impossible for the members to make any changes to their seating arrangements.
To resolve the issue, ENHYPEN members had to re-verify their identities before they could adjust their seats. This incident highlights the persistent threat posed by sasaeng fans who seek to invade the privacy of K-pop idols. ENHYPEN’s agency, HYBE Labels, actively pursues legal action against individuals or SNS accounts involved in the illegal sale of flight information. Despite these efforts, the problem remains widespread in the K-pop industry.
In more positive news, ENHYPEN is preparing for their largest world tour to date. The “WALK THE LINE” tour will feature performances in stadiums and domes, a significant achievement for the group.
Kicking off in South Korea on October 5th and 6th, the tour will continue to Japan’s major domes, including the Belluna Dome and Kyocera Dome Osaka. ENHYPEN will make history as the fastest K-pop boy group to perform in these venues.
ENHYPEN recently concluded their successful “FATE PLUS” tour, which attracted over 237,800 fans worldwide. Additionally, their latest album, “ROMANCE: UNTOLD,” sold nearly 3 million copies, further solidifying their position in the industry.
