Minions & Monsters is a 2026 animated comedy from Illumination that takes the Minions into 1920s Hollywood for a new adventure involving silent movies, fame and giant monsters. The film follows two new Minions, James and Henry, who become fascinated by filmmaking after their tribe’s brief rise to Hollywood stardom. When they decide to make their own monster movie using a spellbook stolen from an evil sorcerer, their filmmaking experiment unleashes real creatures that threaten the world. Directed by Pierre Coffin and written by Coffin and Brian Lynch, the movie expands the Despicable Me universe with a new cast of characters and a period-Hollywood setting.
