Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is Rockstar Games’ open-world action-adventure game set in the fictional state of San Andreas during the early 1990s. Players control Carl “CJ” Johnson, who returns to Los Santos following the death of his mother and becomes caught in a story involving rival gangs, corruption, betrayal and organized crime. The game expanded the Grand Theft Auto formula with a much larger world, character customization, RPG-inspired progression, property management, vehicle variety and activities ranging from gambling to street racing. Its ambitious scale and memorable cast helped make it one of the most influential open-world games of its era.
