There’s a lot of buzz surrounding the Harry Potter TV reboot, which is set to reimagine J.K. Rowling’s magical universe for a new generation. After the iconic series of eight films that began in the 2000s, fans are eager to see what this fresh take will bring and whether any familiar faces will make cameo appearances.

Daniel Radcliffe, who famously portrayed Harry Potter in all eight movies, recently shared his thoughts on the reboot in an interview with E! News, saying, “Like everyone else, I’m very excited to watch it as an audience member.”

When asked if he might appear in the series, Radcliffe replied, “I don’t think so. They seem to want a clean break, which is probably wise. I’m not sure it would fit to have us involved in any way.”

“I understand they want to start fresh, and whoever is making it will want to put their own stamp on it, likely without figuring out how to work an older Harry Potter cameo into it somewhere,” Radcliffe explained.

“So, I’m not actively pursuing a role. I wish them all the best and look forward to seeing the torch passed. I don’t think they need me to do that physically.”

What to Expect in the Harry Potter Reboot The Harry Potter TV series will cover J.K. Rowling’s entire book series, with executives suggesting it may span a decade. Rowling will be involved in the new series to ensure it remains faithful to her original material.

“We’ve kept things under wraps,” said HBO chief Casey Bloys about the search for a showrunner. “We have our internal process and haven’t gone public. Now that the news is out, we’ll start working with the Blair Partnership and reaching out to the industry.”

Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav also indicated during a recent earnings call that the reboot is slated to debut exclusively on Max in 2026.

“We’ve spent significant time with J.K. and her team,” Zaslav added. “Both sides are thrilled to reignite this franchise. We’re excited about the future and can’t wait to share a decade of new stories with fans on Max.”
