Crimson Desert has received an impressive fan-made upgrade that gives Pywel a dynamic four-season cycle. Created by modder Khione95, the Seasons of Pywel mod follows the game’s in-world calendar and changes the environment while players continue exploring, without requiring them to reload the game. The mod was uploaded to Nexus Mods on October 1 and remains available as a free PC download.

The system cycles through summer, autumn, winter, and spring. Summer retains the game’s familiar appearance, while autumn introduces golden, orange, and brown foliage across Pywel. Winter covers the environment with snow and frost, while spring brings greener vegetation and a brighter appearance. The mod also changes temperatures and weather according to the current season.

THE MOD MAKES MORE THAN VISUAL CHANGES

The Seasons of Pywel mod goes beyond simply changing the color palette. Its Nexus Mods description states that weather, temperature, and even deep snow respond to the current season, making the changes feel more integrated into the world. Players can also adjust how quickly the seasons progress instead of being locked to the default 30-day cycle.

According to the mod’s creator, winter introduces genuine cold alongside snowfall, while autumn brings more frequent rain. The system also accounts for Pywel’s different environments, with the desert remaining warmer during winter. Reddit

The addition is particularly notable because Crimson Desert does not officially feature a traditional four-season cycle. Its existing weather system includes effects such as rain, fog, blizzards, and sandstorms, but the fan-made project gives the wider world a more persistent sense of environmental progression.

The mod arrives shortly before Crimson Desert: Charting the Unknown, giving PC players another reason to revisit Pywel. Pearl Abyss recently delayed the expansion from October 15 to October 29, 2026, explaining that it needed additional development time to deliver a more polished and stable experience. Crimson Desert

The upcoming expansion will add new content to Crimson Desert, while the Seasons of Pywel mod provides an unofficial way for PC players to make existing exploration feel substantially different. The two projects are separate, and the seasonal system is not an official feature from Pearl Abyss.

For players looking to experience the new seasons, Seasons of Pywel is currently available through Nexus Mods, although it is a third-party PC modification and is not available on the console versions of the game. Nexus Mods
