BURNOUT SYNDROMES is celebrating its 10th major debut anniversary with a special return to one of the most important partnerships in the band’s career. The Japanese rock trio released Haikyu!! × BOS – Syudaikatachinoutage – on August 19, a cover album dedicated to the music of the beloved volleyball anime series. The release sees the group revisit the Haikyu!! world that helped define its rise in anime music, while also paying tribute to other artists who contributed memorable themes to the franchise.
The album arrives during a milestone year for BURNOUT SYNDROMES, whose 2016 debut single “FLY HIGH!!” became the opening theme for Haikyu!! Season 2. The band later performed “hikariare” and “PHOENIX,” creating a strong musical connection with the series across multiple seasons. The album release was confirmed through the official BURNOUT SYNDROMES website, which lists both the standard and limited editions released on August 19, 2026.
A Decade of BURNOUT SYNDROMES and Haikyu!! Music
Haikyu!! × BOS – Syudaikatachinoutage – features BURNOUT SYNDROMES’ own versions of popular songs associated with the franchise. The tracklist includes music originally performed by SPYAIR, NICO Touches the Walls, Sukima Switch, tacica, CHiCO with HoneyWorks, and SUPER BEAVER, alongside the band’s own Haikyu!! songs.
The 12-track release includes “IMAGINATION,” “Ah Yeah!!,” “LEO,” “I’m A Believer,” “Kessen Spirit,” “Toppakou,” and “Orange.” It also features “FLY HIGH!!,” “hikariare,” and “PHOENIX,” allowing the trio to revisit the songs that established its long-running relationship with the anime.

The new album’s cover artwork also incorporates specially drawn Haikyu!! illustrations, further connecting the anniversary project with Haruichi Furudate’s volleyball series. BURNOUT SYNDROMES has continued to expand its anime portfolio beyond Haikyu!!, but this release places the group’s connection with the franchise at the center of its 10th-anniversary celebration.
The anniversary project was accompanied by a new JUMP MV for “PHOENIX,” which premiered on August 19 through the official Jump Channel. The video is the 58th installment in the JUMP MV collaboration series and combines BURNOUT SYNDROMES’ song with illustrations from the Haikyu!! manga.
“PHOENIX” previously served as an opening theme for Haikyu!! TO THE TOP, making its return especially fitting for the band’s anniversary. The new video gives the song a fresh visual identity through Furudate’s manga artwork while celebrating the energy and emotional intensity that made BURNOUT SYNDROMES such a memorable part of the franchise’s musical history.
