Bumblebee, based on Transformers by Hasbro, got directed by Travis Knight and written by Christina Hodson. The 114-minute-long movie was released in China and the United States and was praised for the action sequences.

Bumblebee got made with a budget of $102 million to $135 million and a worldwide box office collection of $468 million. Thus, it earned more with a budget lower than its predecessors.

The plot goes as follows: Charlie, who will soon turn eighteen, finds a damaged yellow Volkswagen, which turns out to be a battle-scared and extraordinary autobot whom she named ‘Bumblebee.’ Bumblebee, originally named Scout B-127, had come to Earth to form a base amid the Cybertron Civil War, according to Optimus Prime’s instructions.

The movie got released on 21 December 2018, produced by Tencent Pictures, Di Bonaventura Pictures, Allspark Pictures, and Bay Films, and distributed by Paramount Pictures. Surprisingly, John Cena, the greatest wrestler of all time, appeared in this movie as the former US Army Colonel named Jack Burns.

Bumblebee Filming Locations

The movie was titled ‘Brighton Falls while filming, which ended on 10 November 2017, six days before the planned end date. Principal photography occurred in Santa Cruz, Los Angeles, Mare Island, Vallejo, and San Francisco.

Golden Gate Bridge View Point

Bumblee and Charlie became friends and spent some time enjoying the view at the Golden Gate Bridge View Point. This location seems to be the favorite filming destination for many filmmakers.

For instance, Superman (1978), A View To A Kill (1985), Vertigo (1958), Dark Passage (1947), and more had the same bridge. Golden Gate Bridge is one-mile-wide and spans the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay.

Mt. Hollywood Tunnel

Charlie, Bumblebee, and Memo got chased down a tunnel by police, which got filmed at the Mt. Hollywood Tunnel in Los Angeles. This tunnel has been a favorite filming location for many filmmakers.

For instance, some scenes from the movies, such as Runaways, You’re The Worst, Agent Carter, WarGames, and more, were filmed in this tunnel. In the movie, the police attempted to overtake Bumblebee. However, Bumblebee hit a construction sign and escaped the tunnel.

Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park

Charlie and Bumblebee walked down the woods in a forest filmed at Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park. This State Park is in the Santa Cruz Mountains and has redwood trees spread across forty acres. Further, in the movie, Charlie examines the damage that occurred to Bumblebee in the forest, and it projects a hologram of Megatron between the trees.

Rodeo Beach

Bumblee and Charlie also spent more time on the beautiful pebbly Rodeo Beach in Marin Headlands near Sausalito (California). This beach acts as a separation between Rodeo Cove and Rodeo Lagoon.

39 San Marino Drive

Memo’s house got filmed at 39 San Marino Drive. The memo can see Charlie’s house from his driveway in the movie. The 3465 Square Feet house, located in San Rafael, is suitable for single-family and is not for sale, as of now. It has three bathrooms and four bedrooms.

Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk

Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is an oceanfront amusement park and a beach boardwalk that requires no admission. As the name states, it is in Santa Cruz, California. It acts as the Brighton Falls Boardwalk in the movie.

While working at the Brighton Falls Boardwalk, Charlie throws drinks at a well-known boy. On the other hand, a nearby churro stand was chosen to film a scene in which Memo asks her Charlie out.

A Wharf got filmed at Santa Cruz Wharf, where Charlie goes to the Carnival on her bike.

South Seaside Avenue

A business called Hank’s Marine Repair and Parts Brighton Falls docks near the new communication tower is in the movie. Charlie goes to look for the spare parts for her car with an empty blue milk crate. While walking down the line of boats, she finds a yellow VW Beetle under a green sheet. It got filmed at South Seaside Avenue.

Montebello

Charlie brings the empty yellow Bumblebee to her house and starts working on it. However, it goes missing from her garage, and she goes on a hunt. Her house got filmed in Montebello, a city in East Los Angeles in Los Angeles County.
