The upcoming anime adaptation of Betrothed to My Sister’s Ex has released a new trailer and key visual, introducing additional cast members and confirming its Japanese broadcast debut on July 4, 2025, at 25:23 JST (effectively July 5 at 1:23 a.m.).

The trailer features the opening theme song “Gesshoku” by krage, known for the Solo Leveling ending, and previews the ending theme “Marie” performed by Myuk.

Based on the light novel series by Tobirano, illustrated by Mai Murasaki, and serialized on Shōsetsuka ni Narō, the story follows Marie, a baron’s daughter who has been treated like a servant all her life.

Betrothed to My Sister’s Ex TV Anime

A misunderstanding leads Count Granado, the country’s richest man, to propose to her sister Anastasia instead of Marie. After Anastasia’s untimely death, Marie is compelled to take her sister’s place as Granado’s fiancée, unaware that he had been captivated by her all along.

The anime is directed by Takayuki Kitagawa at LandQ Studios, with Masakazu Sunagawa as assistant director. Kenta Ihara handles series composition, Akiko Sato provides character designs and serves as chief animation director, and Kujira Yumemi composes the music.

The confirmed cast includes Rena Motomura as Marie, Daiki Hamano as Count Granado, Minami Tanaka as Anastasia, Ryohei Kimura as Louisphon, Yoko Hikasa as Mio, and Sayaka Ohara as Ryu-Ryu. An English-language version of the manga adaptation by Chikage Nakagura is available through Pocket Comics.
