AnimeJapan brings anime publishers, studios, creators, and fans together through exhibition booths and stage events.

AnimeJapan has announced the 10th edition of its popular “Manga We Want to See Animated Ranking,” inviting fans to nominate manga they want adapted into anime. The 2027 ranking begins accepting nominations on October 21, 2026, with submissions closing on November 12.

Known in Japan as Aniran, the annual initiative lets readers highlight published manga and ongoing series they believe deserve an anime adaptation. The campaign has gained attention as a potential showcase for future anime hits, with more than 30 works previously featured through the initiative eventually receiving anime adaptations.

Past rankings have included popular titles such as SPY×FAMILY, The Apothecary Diaries, and 【Oshi no Ko】. The previous edition, held in 2026, featured 48 nominated works and recorded 222,758 votes, demonstrating strong interest from manga and anime fans in Japan and overseas.

For its 10th anniversary, the ranking will once again give fans an opportunity to champion manga that have not yet received an anime adaptation. The final Top 10 will be announced at an awards ceremony scheduled for March 2027, with the winning titles also receiving promotional displays at AnimeJapan 2027.

The campaign will take place across three stages, leading to the final results in March 2027.

Eligible works include published manga volumes, webcomics, and ongoing series that have not yet been collected into a volume. Manga that have already received a TV anime, theatrical anime, or OVA adaptation are excluded, although live-action adaptations are permitted. Previously inducted Hall of Fame titles are also ineligible.

The 10 highest-ranked titles will be announced during the March 2027 awards ceremony. In addition to recognition at the event, the selected manga will receive promotional displays at the AnimeJapan 2027 venue, including screenings of award-related promotional videos.

AnimeJapan 2027 will take place in Osaka, continuing the event’s role as a major gathering for the global anime industry. The festival features exhibition booths, stage presentations, and business events for industry professionals and fans.
