Free Zia or Song Ji A got embroiled in a scandal after wearing fake Chanel and LV on Netflix’s Single’s Inferno. The controversy became huge that experts were brought in to clear the mess. The social media influencer earned popularity because of her lavish lifestyle and designer clothing. However, after featuring in Netflix’s first South Korean dating show, many news fans realized that various products were fake.
Although Song Ji A has apologized multiple times, her career as an influencer has gone downhill. Moreover, she is keeping a low profile at present.
During her interview with Dispatch, she opened about her reasons behind using the fake products. Also, the netizens got to see what was real and fake inside the famous Free Zia’s closet.
Free Zia Fake VS Real: The Designer Product Scandal
Song Ji A’s first show Single’s Inferno initially brought her global success and fame. However, it soon backfired when people started doubting her luxury clothing. Many fans of the show claimed that her designer clothing from high-end fashion brands was fake.
After a few days of the scandal, it was brought to light that out of 500 times owned by Song Ji A, 20 were fake. Hence, Dispatch sat with the Youtuber to identify the 20 products. During the interview with Song Ji A, Dispatch found that 12 out of the 20 suspected items were genuine and authentic.
Out of the most popular items, the Dior bag was fake, which she used during an advertisement with the real Dior perfume. Nevertheless, she does own authentic Louis Vuitton, Rolex, Dior, Prada, and Chanel items.
Brands like Dior gave her their original pieces for modeling purposes on several occasions. Furthermore, the Chanel flip bag, which was accused of being fake, became real. The LV bikini Song Ji A wore in Single’s Inferno is original too.
As for the fake products, most of the items she wore on Single’s Inferno were fake. It includes the red Saint Laurent dress, the iconic Dior top, Chanel pink logo top, and the Chanel fleece scarf. In addition to this, the white Van Cleef & Arpels’ necklace and earrings were also faux.
Zia’s Apology To Netizens and Her Fans
After the recent Dispatch revelation, Song Ji A apologized to the fans she hurt. She wrote that it was all her fault. Since people started thinking of her items as original, she should have told them the truth. But she did not. Thus, it was her fault to continue keeping them in the dark.
Furthermore, Song Ji A or Free Zia accepted that she knows that it is illegal to buy counterfeit products. As a result, she promised to reflect on her actions and wrongdoings.
Netizens Thoughts On The Controversy
Insiders earlier explained that Knetizens are breathing fire since they believe that Free Zia thinks ‘low’ of them. They assume that the Youtuber thinks that people could not spot the fake items and catch her.
However, many of her international fans are coming to her rescue after her apology surfaced online. Some of her followers think that she is being bullied at this point. The fans feel bad about the remarks being made for Free Zia after the controversy. One wrote: “Wow I feel so bad her, it’s going way too far now.”
One even suggested Song Ji A/ Free Zia file a lawsuit against the defamation. They feel sorry for going through such an intense time for a crime not too big.
Following the scandal, Free Zia also lost her TV gigs, and the episodes including her, had pretty low ratings. To fully put an end to the mystery, Dispatch sent the suspected fake items to the Korea Appraisal Insititute of Luxury Goods. Thankfully, the Real VS Fake confusion is cleared. And Song Ji A has honestly asked for forgiveness.
