Whenever there is a sequel to an original series, the reaction of the fans of the series comes with a mix. The same thing occurred when the sequel to the Inuyasha, Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon was announced. While some people were excited to see the new sequel to the classic, some fans and critics said it was a bad idea. It doesn’t matter, though, because the famous anime made its sequel premiere and lasted two seasons. Furthermore, fans are eagerly anticipating the debut and the release date of Season 3  of Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon. This article will tell you all you need to know about it.

The reason for critics could be fair, because a sequel sometimes may damage the classic anime. For instance, Boruto: Naruto Next Generation, a sequel to the classic anime was a flop for a lot of people. Many otakus I know, did not even bother taking a glance at the sequel. While many fans only read the manga of Boruto because of the bad adaptation of the anime.

Unlike Boruto, which made its debut right after Naruto ended, Inuyasha’s sequel Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon made its debut over a decade and a half later. With two seasons that came to end on 26th March and the possibility of the third season for Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon.

Sunrise’s Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon is a Japanese anime television series. It is a sequel to the Inuyasha anime series, which is based on Rumiko Takahashi’s original manga series of the same name. It follows Towa Higurashi and Setsuna, Sesshomaru and Rin’s fraternal twin daughters, as well as Moroha, Inuyasha, and Kagome Higurashi’s daughter, on their journeys.

In May of 2020, the series was first announced. It aired on Yomiuri TV and Nippon TV from October 3, 2020, to March 20, 2021. Sunrise produced the series, which was directed by Teruo Sato and featured main character designs by Inuyasha creator Rumiko Takahashi. Funimation and Viz Media announced a partnership on October 26, 2020, to release an English dub of the series, with the original Inuyasha cast bringing back their roles.

On November 6, 2020, Funimation, Hulu, and Crunchyroll began streaming the English dub. Following the release of Episode 24, a second season of the series was confirmed on March 20, 2021. Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon – The Second Act, the second season, aired from October 2, 2021, to March 26, 2022. Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon’s third season might be on the way.

On September 25, 2021, Takashi Shiina’s manga adaption began in Shogakukan’s Shonen Sunday S, with script assistance from Katsuyuki Sumisawa. On January 18, 2022, Shogakukan published the first collected tankobon volume. The manga has been licensed for English distribution in North America by Viz Media. On June 21, 2022, the first book will be issued.

Towa and Setsuna, half-demon twins, were constantly together and lived happily in medieval Japan. However, their happy days are cut short when a forest fire separates them and Towa is hurled through a portal into modern-day Japan. Souta Higurashi discovers her there and raises her as his daughter after Towa is unable to return to her time.

Despite her frequent clashes, 14-year-old Towa is a pretty well-adjusted student 10 years later. However, three guests from feudal Japan appear on her doorstep: Moroha, a bounty hunter; Setsuna, a demon slayer and Towa’s long-lost twin sister; and Mistress Three-Eyes, a demon seeking a mysterious artifact. The girls vanquish their attacker by working together, but Towa realizes, to her shock, that Setsuna has no recollection of her at all. Hanyou no Yashahime: Sengoku Otogizoushi follows the three girls as they try to solve Setsuna’s memory loss and learn the truth about their intertwined fates.

Most Likely, Sunrise studios will produce the third season Yashahime. The studio is most known for creating anime series such as Gundam, Cowboy Bebop, Code Geass, Accel World, Gintama, Tiger & Bunny, and more. Sunrise has stated that the Tiger & Bunny Season 2 anime sequel will be released in Spring 2022.

Setsuna, Towa, and Moroha

As of the most recent update from the creators, there has been no word about the return of Yashahime Princess Half-Demon Season 3. Nor has the production of a Yashahime sequel been announced. Neither the production business nor any of the employees have revealed any information concerning the return.

There is no specific information on the release date or the return of the third season as per the most recent update. However, all indicators point to the season’s comeback in the near future. With the sequel ending on March 26th, 2022, a new episode might be released within a year after the announcement. As a result, fans may have to wait until the fall of 2022 for an official announcement.

VIZ Media officially dubbed the second season Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon: The Second Act (Hanyo no Yashahime: Sengoku Otogizoushi: Ni no Shou). As a result, the third season may be regarded as either the genuine Season 2 or Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon: The Third Act.

While there may not have been any updates regarding the third season. However, based on the anime’s response, there is a good probability that a third season may be released sooner than fans anticipate. The 2020 television series has an IMDb rating of up to 7.2 stars.

The series’ MyAnimeList score, on the other hand, is significantly lower. The series has received a 6.5-star rating from around 22,000 fans. This number was raised to 7.1 stars in the second season. These figures are sufficient for an early renewal. Furthermore, there was just a seven-month interval between the first and second. This increases the likelihood of the series’ revival.

There was only a seven-month gap between the first and the second season of the anime. This demonstrates how hard Studio Sunrise works day in and day out to create a season. As of currently, there has been no official update on Season 3’s development work. However, it is reasonable to expect that the work will begin shortly.

If the creators want to restart the series this year, the season may already be in the works. Yashahime is also an original series, which adds to the appeal. This indicates that the limits of the original material are not present in this anime. As a result, Studio Sunrise may keep the drama going for as long as they like.

Yashahime Princess Half-Demon is not a manga or light novel series adaptation. This indicates that there will be no restrictions on the source material throughout the season. In the next version, the legends of great warriors can be continued. Moroha, Towa, and Setsuna will also cross paths several times over the season.

Towa and Setsuna, sisters, are going through a difficult time as a result of new duties. Inuyasha and Kagaome’s daughters are finding it tough to follow in their parents’ footsteps. The plot shifted from one point of view to another several times. Rin’s rescue from the Sacred Tree of Ages was the motivating force behind the entire season. Due to a curse, the mother of two was stuck inside the holy valley. However, when the daughters attempt to overcome the curse, Zero intervenes to defeat them.

Moroha, a quarter-bounty hunter, is the story’s second protagonist. Moroha gets into the costly business of working as a personal guard in the second season. There are more characters in addition to the tritagonists, such as veterans and younger generations. With so many people, the tale must cover a lot of ground.

Given that most of the key characters are still there and do not appear to be departing, the cast of InuYasha would most likely have remained essentially unaltered for a hypothetical third season. Though it is unknown whether the program will return for a third season, at least a section of the cast from the previous two seasons is expected to return.
