Will There Be 18 Again Season 2?

18 again (2020) is a South Korean drama that has 16 episodes in total. The drama aired from 21st September 2020 to 10th November 2020 on Monday and Tuesday every week. It streamed on the original network JTBC every week with a duration of each episode to be approximately 1hr10min. The show had huge popularity because of its star cast and brilliant projection and representation. The genres of the show include Comedy, romance, life, youth, drama, and fantasy. With the direction under Ha Byung Hoon and screenwriting under Kim Do Yeon, Ahn Eun Bin, Choi Yi Ryoon.

18 again is also popularly known as Eitin Eogein. The drama is based on the 2009 film 17 again by Jason Filardi and it starred Kim Na Neul, Yoon Sang Hyun, and Lee Do Hyun in lead roles. The drama 18 again was a much-awaited drama since its release was scheduled to be a little earlier than the original release date but it got delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Plot summary of 18 Again(2020)

The plot summary of the drama revolves around three main characters named Jung Da Jung, Hong Dae Young, and Hong Dae Young( 18year old also named Ko Woo Young). Hong Dae Young and Jung Da Jung are both married and have spent nearly twenty years together in their married life. They seem to be happy with the parents of two twin children. Their children are also eighteen years and seem they seem to be perfect from the outside. But what may look perfect from the outside may not be so perfect from the inside. Jung Da Jung is fed up with her husband and his consistent nonsense and couldn’t take it anymore one day when she heard that he left his job. Jung Da Jung feels like she can be happy without him being alone as well and doesn’t need to go through all the everyday sufferings and immediately files for divorce from Hong Dae Young.

Shattered by his wife’s decision he takes time to think if he has done anything right yet or not. His deep regrets and thoughts make him realize his mistake of what he could have done better. Regrets filled his mind and his body changed into an eighteen-year-old boy. He took it as a new chance to mend his current life and its mistakes and takes admission in his son’s school with the mind still of a thirty-seven-year-old. He re-lives his life as an eighteen-year-old and names himself Ko Woo Young. He in a way gets to know himself better and tries to rectify his silly mistakes with the mind still of a thirty-seven-year-old. In an eighteen-year-old body, Ko Woo Young realizes his mistakes and that he still has a lot to learn and tries to see life from a different perspective overall.

Apart from them several other actors and actresses are also seen as guest roles in the drama.

Will there be 18 Again Season 2?

So far no confirmed news has been released from the production team, the drama also featured on the global platform Netflix and was quite successful. Keeping into consideration the fans’ demand they might even have a season 2. Though the drama ended on a happy note and may not be extended but still in huge demand the show might return on floors.
