SEAL Team dropped its first episode on September 27th, 2017. The series soon became popular as more and more people tuned in to watch the American military drama series created by Benjamin Cavell. The show was nominated for two Primetime Emmy Awards in 2018 and 2019 for Outstanding Music Composition For A Series and Outstanding Stunt Coordination For A Drama Series, respectively. SEAL Team is known for its action and drama and has a knack for keeping its viewers at the edge of their seats. The season five finale was no different, leaving its viewers wanting more after its epic cliffhanger. Which is what left the fans asking: Is there going to be a SEAL Team Season 6?

The series was produced by CBS studios and began airing on CBS before being moved to Paramount+ after its fourth season. The fifth season premiered on October 10th, 2021. The show follows an elite unit of U.S. Navy SEALs.

SEAL Team has an ensemble star cast which includes David Boreanaz, Max Thieriot, Jessica Pare, Neil Brown Jr., A.J. Buckley, Toni Trucks, and Judd Lormand. They play Jason Hayes, Clay Spenser, Amanda “Mandy” Ellis, Raymond “Ray” Perry, Sonny Quinn, Lisa Davis, and Eric Blackburn.

Seal Team’s storyline follows the Bravo Team, which is a subunit of the United States Naval Special Warfare Development Group, the most elite unit of Navy SEALs. The team plans and undertakes dangerous missions worldwide with little notice. The show also highlights the burden placed on them and their families. The Navy SEAL team is led by Master Chief Special Warfare Operator Jason Hayes, aka Bravo 1/1B, who is dealing with the loss of one of their own. Then there is Special Warfare Operator Second Class, Clay Spenser A.K.A. Bravo 6/6B, who is a second-generation Navy SEAL in training for Tier One status and is questioned in regards to his readiness for combat. He served as the team’s second in command twice after he became a member of the Bravo team at the end of “The Exchange”.

She later serves as an interrogator for the CIA after she gets demoted from her rank of an officer due to her actions of giving up the location of a CIA asset in “My Life For Yours”. Chief Warrant Officer 2, Ray Perry, aka Bravo 2/2B, who was formerly Senior Chief Special Warfare Operator, is the longest-tenured member of the team and Jason’s most trusted friend. In the third episode of the fourth season, he is promoted to Chief Warrant Officer 2. Special Warfare Operator First Class, Sonny Quinn, aka Bravo 3/3B, is a loyal but sometimes volatile SEAL who prefers firefights over a leadership position.

Commander Eric Blackburn, who was formerly Lieutenant Commander and Bravo team’s commanding officer, was later promoted to Executive Officer of DEVGRU during the fourth season. The show has had quite a journey over the past year. As per usual, the fifth season premiered on CBS in October 2021, but after airing just four episodes, the show moved to Paramount+. in November 2021.

SEAL Team Season 5 Recap

The fifth season began with everyone on Bravo being shocked when they learned that a training exercise is really a cover for a covert mission to get a weapons expert out of one of the world’s most dangerous countries. After their operation gets compromised, they are forced to figure out how to escape undetected from the country. Later, when the members travel to New York City, they all reflect on a day that shaped their lives forever. After which, the team gets spun upon a sudden mission in Africa, as each member confronts major family obstacles. They then find themselves in a rush to prevent a major terrorist attack when they receive intel that alters their plan.

They race against the clock while they attempt to locate and capture their enemy. While Jason is forced to make a tough call to get answers to long-lingering questions, he is also forced to make decisions that put the member’s lives and jobs at risk when his personal and professional lives become intertwined, which causes their plans to go awry, after they manage to escape their burning SUV. An unlikely hero emerges while the team shares exciting personal news and works through disagreements. Later the team ruminates on America’s longtime involvement in the war on terror after they return to Afghanistan to continue the fight against the Taliban.

Clay tries to piece together what went wrong after an op goes sideways and lands the whole team in the hospital, and they must create a little chaos to stay calm. Later Ray leads the team on an op accompanying British forces while Jason seeks refuge at home. Then tensions surrounding Jason’s leadership are at an all-time high when the team is presented with a unique mission in South America. They have to work against the Iranian nuclear project on the ground in South America. The team’s interpersonal problems are made more obvious due to multiple high-stakes missions. Clay and Sonny are forced to take certain matters into their own hands while Jason must confront his deepest fears in order to heal.

Later one of their own poses the biggest threat to the success of one of their missions when they need all hands on deck to shut down the Venezuelan nuclear program. After their mission is resolved, they head back to the U.S. Jason finally reached out to Emma to apologize for his actions, and after he received the closure he needed from Alana, he is finally ready to move on. He has also finally admitted his feelings for Mandy and the two reconciled. Clay admitted that he was leaving the team while Sonny begged for forgiveness for almost getting themselves killed. The finale ends with everyone being deployed to take down an ISIS member when their car is blown up in an ambush, and the entire team is in danger. Sonny and Jason have blood on them, and three men send RPGs their way.

SEAL Team Season 6 Release Date

SEAL Team Season 5 finale has fans wondering if and when there is going to be a Season 6. As of right now, SEAL Team has neither been renewed for Season 6 nor has it been canceled. As the fifth season finale just aired three days ago, it is still early for an official announcement about the series’ future. Considering when the renewal dates of the fourth season and the fifth season were announced, fans can expect to hear about the sixth season as early as May 2022, maybe earlier. If it is renewed, then depending on the pattern followed by the previous seasons, fans can hopefully expect the sixth season by the end of this year or the beginning of next year.

As with all shows, SEAL Team’s fate will largely depend on the fifth season ratings, which will be measured a little differently as a result of the move. However, fans will be happy to know that SEAL Team’s ratings are looking very good. SEAL Team has a higher demand than 99.4 percent of drama series in the U.S. Also, audience demand was 18.5 percent higher than the demand of the average TV series. Other factors which play a major role in the future of the series are the decision of the creator and the availability of the cast.

What To Expect From SEAL Team Season 6?

With regards to what we should expect if and when there is a sixth season, it will first of all be interesting to see which members of the team survived the ambush and which of them did not. We hope that all of them survived, but that could just be wishful thinking, and there is a high possibility that one or more team members will die. The ambush took place just as it looked like Clay was about to forgive Sonny. We hope that the two of them do survive and that they finally reconcile. Also, if Clay does survive, we wonder if he will actually leave the team and whether he will come back. It will also be interesting to see if Jason survived, which most probably he will, and how his relationship with Mandy will turn out this time around.
