Atsushi Sendo, also known as Akkun, is a long-standing member of the Tokyo Manji Gang and was the best friend of Takemichi Hanagaki during his high school years. As the leader of a small group of delinquents, Atsushi exudes a strong sense of self-assurance. Atsushi, as the group’s leader, is always looking after his buddies. He is aware that team member Takuya Yamamoto is not a skilled fighter and thus is always eager to take his place so that Takuya is not injured. Akkun also has no qualms killing someone to protect his friends. This was apparent when he was willing to kill Masataka Kiyomizu to free himself and his companions from slavery as he saw no other option.
How did Atsushi Sendo Die?
Atsushi Sendo dies due to committing suicide. After finally being done with obeying Tetta Kisaki’s evil orders and the immense guilt that he had due to it, Atsushi jumps from a roof after confessing the truth to Takemichi Hanagaki. Years later, Atsushi rose through the ranks of Toman’s upper hierarchy and was assigned to supervise a hostess bar. Takemichi contacts Atsushi, who agrees to see Manjiro after discovering that Atsushi is in the elite tier. Naoto goes with Takemichi, but Atsushi brings Takemichi to the rooftop to converse in private. He explains that he is aware that Naoto is a police officer and Hinata’s younger brother. Atsushi also admits that he was the one who pushed him into the train tracks and that he should have perished as a result, but Naoto foresaw this and protected him. He wonders if Takemichi can travel back in time and begs for Naoto’s assistance.
Atsushi thinks that the whole concept of time travel is absurd, but after careful consideration, there’s no other way to explain it. Takemichi refuses to accept that his childhood friend, Atsushi, would try to kill him. Due to not seeing Manjiro in years, Atsushi discloses that he became Tetta Kisaki’s soldier and had to obey him as everyone in Toman does the same. Manjiro had a complete change of personality when Ken Ryuguji died, and Atsushi urges Takemichi to go back in time and save him, as well as everyone else. After that, Atsushi dies by jumping from the rooftop, leading Takemichi to deeply grieve.
The second year of middle school was the pinnacle of Takemichi Hanagaki’s life. He had respect, a solid group of friends, and even a girlfriend. That was more than a decade ago, though, and for only a small time. Fast forward to the present, and he is nothing but a washed-up good for nothing mocked by youngsters and obliged to apologize to his younger boss on a regular basis. An unexpected news article about the Tokyo Manji Gang was brutally murdering his beloved ex-girlfriend, and her brother just adds salt to injury. Takemichi reverts back to his high school days when he was still dating Hinata Tachibana, half a second before a train takes his pathetic existence for good.
Takemichi encounters Hinata’s brother, who is supposed to be dead, as he is forced to repeat the day that started his misery. Before going back to the past, he concedes to his miserable death without resistance. Before strangely returning to the future, Hinata’s brother tells him to safeguard his sister. He is, miraculously, not dead. What is even stranger is that the future has altered from the one he knows. In such a shocking turn of events, Takemichi realizes that he has the ability to change the course of time. Thus, Takemichi chooses to travel through time to change the course of history in order to prevent his past lover’s murder at the hands of the Tokyo Manji Gang.
