Sony has not confirmed the reason behind Adam’s departure so far. On the other hand, Adam Sandler has not commented on the issue either. Therefore, why Adam Sandler decided to leave Hotel Transylvania 4 is still officially unknown. Although fans are already feeling the absence of Sandler after the release of the official trailer, creators Jennifer Kluska and Derek Drymon does not seem to be sharing the same feelings. In a recent press statement, Derek has mentioned that as Dracula turns into a human in the final film, it gave the makers a good opportunity to try something different with the characters. Derek stated that the change in the voice role would make Dracula’s onscreen transformation more natural.

Jennifer also shared that embracing the difference in the role offscreen while the character is being changed onscreen appeared to be a great opportunity. The director of the first three films in the franchise, Genndy Tartakovsky has previously shared about having certain creative conflicts with Adam but we cannot conclude that as the official reason behind Sandler’s exit. Sandler has also served as the executive producer of the first three films of the Hotel Transylvania franchise. However, he is also not associated with the production of Hotel Transylvania 4 anymore. Regardless of Adam Sandler’s reason for exit from Hotel Transylvania 4, it can certainly be said that he will be deeply missed as the voice behind Count Dracula.
