Black Clover is a manga series with a lot of powerful characters. The lead bunch in Yuuki Tabata’s shonen series is very powerful. The story began with a powerless boy named Asta, and his journey to become the next Wizard King. The series is currently one of the biggest shonen series, with a large number of fans. Since its debut in 2015, Black Clover has introduced numerous powerful characters, with their own unique magic. If you haven’t seen it yet, a total of 170 episodes are currently available on Crunchyroll.
In this article, we will be pitting two powerful characters against each other to see who triumphs. One of them is Julius Novachrono, the 28th Magic Emperor of the Clover Kingdom’s Magic Knights. His opponent is someone who has not yet made his anime debut. That character is Lucifero, the highest-ranking devil connected to the Tree of Qliphoth. The power this entity holds is insanely high, and manga readers are waiting for his anime debut. Let’s take a brief look at their histories and see who emerges the victor if they were ever to fight.
Julius Novachrono’s Story
Julius was a tall, middle-aged man with a deep-rooted love for magic. Before he became emperor, Julius used to be a captain of the Aqua Deer squad, a position now held by Rill. His obsession with magic usually causes him to behave in a childish manner, despite being 42 years of age. In fact, he occasionally goes out in disguise to conduct searches for new forms of magic. His childish and playful nature extends to other areas as well. He sometimes ignores his duties as emperor to go out. There are times when he puts high-ranking knights and low-ranking knights in the same room, knowing that they will start fighting.
But Julius’ intelligence is not to be taken lightly, as he understands social dynamics as well as magic. He also does not differentiate people based on their social standing. One example of this is when he treats Asta and Yuno with the same regard as his knights. He has a deep love for his people and country as well. In a fight against Patoli, Julius dies protecting his nation. But a little bit of magic he stores in his tattoo restores him to life the next day. However, Julius is now in the body of his 13-year-old self. He is also the first person to realize that Lucifero is about to emerge.
Julius’ specialty is Time Magic. With this, he can manipulate time in any way he likes: accelerate, decelerate, stop, or reverse the flow. This saved him from dying entirely. It can also heal wounds and can defeat a devil.
About Lucifero
Lucifero is an arrogant and cruel devil, just like others in the series. He kills as he pleases, and holds no regard for anyone’s feelings. His magic specializes in manipulating gravity. Even if Lucifero is not at his full power, his magic power is overwhelmingly high and can keep increasing if he pleases. He once easily defeated seven boosted Magic Knight Captains even in his incomplete form.
Lucifero packs immense strength and stopped a massive swing from Asta’s Demon-Slayer Sword with just one hand. In a single punch, he sent Asta flying across the ground. He also crushed Mereoleona Vermillion’s left forearm with one hand.
One notable feature of Lucifero is his Devil Possession. With this ability, Lucifero can possess the bodies of low-ranked devils, whoever they are. After opening the second gate, he can pull the strings of countless devils, or manifest them into one massive body for himself to operate.
Who Is Stronger Between Julius Novachrono And Lucifero?
If we compare power statuses between Julius and Lucifero before the former’s transformation, the results are unclear. Julius’ intelligence and knowledge can somehow make him beat the devil. But Lucifero is equally smart, and his gravity can bend time in some way. It is safe to assume that we haven’t seen every ace up Julius’ sleeve yet.
However, in his current 13-year-old self, Julius’ power levels are unknown. He may not possess the same magical ranking as earlier, and this can result in Lucifero’s victory.
