Lawrence Kasdan is the one who has produced and directed the whole story. It comes from a script that was penned down by his brother Mark. The film stars actors such as Kevin Kline as well as Scott Glenn, and Danny Glover. The tale was produced under the banner of Columbia Pictures as well as Delphi III Productions. When it comes to the plot, major light is thrown on the character named Emmett. In the opening scene, we witness that he is ambushed by three assailants while he is sleeping inside an isolated shack.
Soon, a gunfight emerges in which Emmett kills his enemies. Thus, he sets forth on a journey towards Silverado, where he detours to Turley in order to meet his brother named Jake. While he is still on his path, the protagonist comes across a man named Paden who was lying in the desert. Paden was brutally robbed and was left to die by the robbers. Paden decides that he will travel with Emmett having nothing left in life. As the duo arrives in Turley, they stumble across Mal. He happens to be a cowboy who was thrown out of the town by John Langston. They soon learn that Jake, Emmett’s brother, is locked up and awaits being hanged for killing a man.
Paden is later thrown into the same cell as Jake because he killed a man who robbed him. They all manage to bleakly escape town and, with Mal’s help, set out on a journey to Silverado. The four men help a wagon train of settlers to recover their stolen money from the thieves and lead them to Silverado as well. Upon reaching, they all say their respective goodbyes to various destinations. Jake and Emmett meet with their sister, whose husband is a land agent. He works for the area and informs them that rancher Ethan McKendrick will attempt to maintain an open range which he will be dominating through his huge herds of cattle. Emmett soon learns that it was Ethan who hired the men who attacked him in the shack. It was because he killed Ethan’s father five years ago and was released from prison right now.
Mal, on the other hand, comes across his father Ezra, who was left destitute after his home was burnt down and the land was overrun by cattle. As for his sister Rae, she has gone off and taken up with Calvin Slick Stanhope, who happens to be a shifty gambler in the league working for a ruthless sheriff Cobb of Silverado. Cobb is one of the old friends of Paden. Ethan is provided money through him only. He arranges for Paden to overlook the entire gambling saloon managed by Stella but owned by Cobb. Stella is a very honest woman who does not like the presence of Cobb and likes that Paden is present. Cobb instructs Stella well in order to prevent Paden from engaging in the dealing of Ethan.
Later, we see that it was Ethan’s men who kidnap the young nephew of Emmett named Augue and murder Ezra and burned his land office. Stella knows about how big of a risk she is taking but still insists Paden in assisting Mal as well as Jake and Emmett for setting things right in town. They eventually go through tonnes of chaos before finally setting things straight in Silverado. Jake and Emmett then head over to California. Mal and his sister try to rebuild their family’s homestead together. As for Paden, he decides to become the new sheriff of the town.
