More and More people seem to be interested in the macabre, which is what led so many people to watch the horror film named after the 1938 song of the same name, a version of which is featured in the movie by Paul Whiteman. Jeepers Creepers is known for its horror and, as the name suggests, creepiness. It makes viewers want to sleep with their lights on. Many people are curious about where the movie was shot; hence, we have revealed the filming locations for Jeepers Creepers.
The film did receive mixed reviews but was successful enough to become a franchise with two sequels released in 2003 and 2017, respectively. A reboot is known as Jeepers Creepers: Reborn has also been scheduled to release in 2022.
Plot
The story begins with two college students traveling home from spring break, Trish Jenner and her brother Darry, played by Gina Philips and Justin long, respectively. While driving through the countryside, an old truck tailgates them but passes eventually. Later, they see the same truck parked outside an abandoned church and the driver sliding dead bodies into a large pipe sticking out of the ground. On seeing the pair, the driver then chases and runs them off the road. After the driver leaves, they go back to the church and find several bodies. They then go to a diner and call the cops when they receive a call from a strange woman who tells them that they are in danger and proceeds to play the song “Jeepers Creepers”.
They, however, ignore her warning and take two police officers to the church, which is now on fire, and all evidence has been destroyed. The police are then killed by the driver, and the pair drive off in horror and seek shelter at the house of an old woman and ask her to call the police. The woman does so until she is killed by the driver, who is now revealed itself as something inhuman.
The two then drive to a police station where they meet Jezelle Gay Hartman, played by Patricia Belcher, who tells them that the driver is an ancient creature known as the “Creeper”. The Creeper then finds them at the station, and after killing its way through, it flies away with Darry. The next day, Trish’s parents pick her up, and Jezelle returns home. Later, it is revealed that the Creeper has removed the back of Darry’s head and taken his eyes out.

Jeepers Creepers Filming Locations
The filming locations for Jeepers Creepers were set in Florida, in Ocala, Dunnellon, Reddick, and Lake Panasoffkee, to be specific. Most of the scenes in which they are driving are shot Tiger trail, a stretch of SW 180th Avenue Road, situated to the Northeast of the town of Dunnellon. The town is 25 miles West of Ocala. It is claimed that the ghosts of three children, who were killed at the intersection of Tiger Trail and the local high school road, have been seen here. The abandoned church was, in fact, an actual abandoned church called St. James, situated at 3602 SW 110th Avenue, between Dunnellon and Ocala. The creepy part is, pardon the pun, that the church did actually mysteriously burn down after filming.
The diner or what’s left of it is located at 4629 FL-44, Lake Panasoffkee, near the town of Rutland. The diner’s name ‘Opper’s Diner’ was a nod to Barry Opper, one of the producers of the film. The Reddick Public Library doubles as the “Poho County’ Sheriff’s office. However, it seems to not be in use anymore. The industrial site used in the climax, which was once White’s Meat Packing, to the North of Ocala, is not there anymore as it was completely demolished and the site was redeveloped.
