If you are a huge movie buff, then you might know that Casablanca is one of the must-watch on the list. However, a fun fact about the movie is that even the products and the members of the movie had never dreamt in their wildest dreams that the movie would reach such a level as to be one of the most popular movies to be watched to date. This romantic drama set during the period of World War II has managed to bring a different level of emotion that you will hardly get in a maximum of war movies. Also, it does not majorly portray the war scenes but rather the difficulties faced by the people and their families during this time. In this blog, we will get to know where Casablanca was filmed?
The movie had received a number of Academy Awards and other nominations and awards as well. Even to date, it is considered to be one of the prime examples of setting up a romantic drama movie. Casablanca is such a famous movie that the actors are more remembered for their roles in this movie, and also the dialogues are evergreen. This was the movie that dominated pop culture during the 40s.
Where Is Casablanca filmed?
Well, most of Casablanca was filmed in the Warner Bros Studio, Burbank, California. As most of the scenes were shot inside the Rick’s Café Américain, and hence most of the scenes were to be shot indoors, inside the studio. You can visit the studio, and if you are extremely lucky to get a pass get inside the studios to experience how series or movies are shot. Even if you cannot get inside, you can at least give the studios a visit and also tour around the area.
There is only one outdoor location that was used for the movie. If you remember the scene where Captain Strasser arrives, that scene was shot in a real-life airport. Otherwise, all the other airport shots or any other outdoor scenes were all shot inside the studio. The arrival scene was shot at the old Metropolitan Airport at Van Nuys near Burbank. Therefore, if you are really into the movie, then we would recommend you to visit the old airport and try to find the location where the shot was taken. These were all the locations where Casablanca was filmed.
