This causes a lot of complications between Meredith and David.

Meanwhile, newbie Jordan Wright is performing brilliantly in his surgery with Bailey. Dr. Bailey is his hero, and he desperately wants to learn from her. While in another OR, Schmidt performs a routine surgery on podcaster Devon Gomez, whom he is a fan of. When he decides to continue the surgery instead of waiting for an attending, Devon begins to bleed out and eventually dies on the table. Helm describes what happened to Bailey, after which she makes Schmidt call out the time of death. After which, she tells Webber that this mistake is on him as it was his method that Schmidt was performing during the surgery. Meanwhile, in an attempt to win Amelia back, Link sees her kissing Dr. Kai.

Also in the finale, Winton finds a heart for Farouk, Owen’s sister’s son. Teddy, Owen, and Hayes go to Tacoma to pick up the organ. On the way, Hayes tells Owen that his sister, Megan, is severely depressed. On the way back with the heart, their driver has a stroke which causes them to crash and land on the edge of a cliff. None of them have cell service, and the car can go over at any time. They then decide that Teddy needs to hop out and take the heart to the hospital for Farouk’s surgery, which she does. After this, Owen makes Hayes do the same thing, but confessing that he helped the veteran Noah take his own life and that he has promised three more veterans the same.
