Agents of SHIELD might be returning for one last time to our screens. The show has been renewed for its sixth season but, this might be the last one. ABC announced that Agents of SHIELD would be coming back for another season. They will be hoping to give the show a great send off. Agents of SHIELD is the only Marvel show that airs on ABC. ABC wouldn’t want to lose fans by not renewing it; however, if the story isn’t good enough, then there’s no point in continuing the show.
The fifth season gave the staff a lot of things to ponder. It wasn’t the best season one might say. So, the sixth season is a chance at redemption for the show. The sixth season will have 13 episodes instead of the usual 22. This is another reason why fans believe that the sixth season will be the final season.
Moving on to the cast for season 6. The main characters will be coming back for the new season. Here is the cast for season 6 of Agents of SHIELD —
- Chloe Bennet as Daisy Johnson
- Henry Simmons as Mack
- Elizabeth Henstridge as Jemma Simmons
- Natalia Cordova-Buckley as Elena ‘Yo-Yo’ Rodriguez.
- Iain de Caestecker as Leo Fitz
The sixth season will be coming out in 2019. There has been no exact date for the release of the sixth season. We will update you accordingly when we get any news about the release. One thing that is certain is that ABC won’t back down from canceling the show if it doesn’t live up to the expectations. Channing Dungey, who is the boss at ABC spoke about the reason why Inhumans was canceled. He said that the show didn’t perform at their expected level. He further added that the “numbers were less exciting for us than we hoped they would be.”
He also revealed that ABC plans to make more Marvel shows. He said, “We continue to be very excited with what we’re going to do with SHIELD.” He also revealed that they had added a few things, but they didn’t give the desired results.
