The founders of Motley Crue are Nikki Sixx (who plays the piano), Mick Mars (lead guitarist), Vince Neil (lead singer), and Tommy Lee (drummer). These four are the current members of the band. While guitarist John Corabi (1992-1996) and drummer Randy Castillo (1999-2000, died 2002) are the former members. There are other members too who act as touring musicians.
The band released its the first album Too Fast for love in 1981. Following that, it released Shout at the Devil (1983), Theatre of Pain (1985). Motley Crue is so popular among the people that it sold more than a 100million albums worldwide. The fans keep themselves energized for their live performance featuring roller coaster drum kits, guitars showering with fire and lighting. In 2008, the band released Saints of Los Angeles on 24 June. On 22nd March 2019, they released four songs for a soundtrack for its Netflix biopic The Dirt. Motley Crue was formed in the year 1981. Their first split had occurred in 1992 when Vince Neil left the group and released two solo albums in the years 1993 and 1995. John Corabi had replaced him in 1992 till 1996. He was reduced to a footnote when Neil returned to the fold in 1997. But again he left to work on Methods of Mayhem Again Tommy Lee had departed in 1999 and it introduced Randy Castillo and Samantha Maloney as its members. But later Tommy Lee had again joined the band in the year 2004. The Dirt was ranked one on the iTunes All Genres Album Chart, ten on the Billboard 200, and Top 10 worldwide.
After getting back together in 2004, it announced again in 2014 with their final show in 2015. The second split was in the year 2014. After 2015, they signed a contract stating that none of them would ever use the band’s name unless the four were to reunite. In September 2018, Neil announced that Motley Crue had reunited and working on a new song. On 4th December 2019, it was officially announced that Motley Crue would embark on the Stadium Tour in 2020. On 1st June 2020, Motley Crue announced to reschedule the Stadium Tour from June to September 2021 due to Covid 19 pandemic. But it was again postponed to 2022 because of the worst pandemic situation.
Many members of Motley Crue we’re battling with addiction of alcohol and drugs like cocaine and heroin. They also had differences and some were happy to try their hand at various side projects. So it was kinda on-off. Despite the on-offs, Motley Crue are back together and fans can’t wait. It’s a total blessing to get the band together.
