There is a very possible existential threat going on. And it is capable of bringing the Crime Lab down. The team of forensic investigators must take back the old friends. They will also need to deploy new techniques to preserve and serve justice in Sin City. In the twenty-second trailer released by the CBS network, we hear Gill say, “In my experience, science will tell us if how things look is how they really are. In the end, all you can do is tell the truth, hope that the evidence doesn’t disagree.”
Talking in an interview, Khal talked about the show. She talked about welcoming the next generation of forensic criminalists. Uniting them with the old characters who have done so much till now. She also mentioned how since the last few years, as technology and research keep upgrading, [c]rimefighting technology is getting advance in a dramatic manner.
With Kahl focusing on the things like old vs. new and the advancement of technology, the existential threat can be translated as the investigators might become obsolete. Looking back at the show, Grissom, Sidle, and Hodges are not up to date with the new methods and technologies, the new people coming in with the mission to save, investigate and protect right steal the thunder.
