‘Wheel of Time’ is an Amazon Prime Original web series. It is based on the best-selling high fantasy novel, ‘The Eye of the World’ by American writer Robert Jordan. Fans of ‘Game of Thrones’ must have had flashbacks of the same while watching many scenes of this series. And actually, there is something common between these two fantasy-based series. The cast of the series was flown to Europe for the filming of the series. The team did try to keep the location secretive, but it’s fascinating what fans can do. Here, we have located the filming locations of Wheel of Time.
All the places in the series seem to be magical. The small town of Two Rivers is a group of houses, each of them seeming to be keeping a story within their mute walls. As the story proceeds, we see many extraordinary scenes. Yet again, it’s not all out of Earth. So, if you are an avid traveler and want to visit these beautiful filming locations of Wheel of Time, fret not as we have listed them out for you, right here.
‘Wheel of Time’ Filming Locations
Wheel of Time is most prominently filmed in Prague. The series became much more realistic because of the location. Here is the detailed information of various scenes and significant places:
1. Prague: Home for the crew of ‘Wheel of Time’
Prague is literally a paradise for any fantasy genre lover. Its classic buildings and routes made it a perfect place for the shooting of this series. Prague is the major location of the series. It’s kind of obvious that the second season will be filmed here too.
2. Dolský mlýn: The shadow was waiting!
Remember the surreal camp of Perrin and Egwene? Guess where it is? It is in Dolský Mlýn. This destination was the filming spot of episode 2 of ‘Wheel of Time’. Indeed the place has a lot to present the era the series is about.
Egwene spotted Myrddraal from here after waking up from the unpleasant sound of the wind.
3. Slovenia: Pair of friends looking for the other pair.
All those fascinating mountains were not fake. They actually exist here on Earth. It is Slovenia, where you can witness the stunning mountains we see in the series. Rand and Mat called for Egwene and Perrin, who they lost when the shadow started to indulge their safe stay. The small town Bovec is one of the filming locations too.
4. Dubrovnik, Croatia: The fake Dragon’s first look
‘Game of Thrones‘ famed Dubrovnik is also a location in ‘Wheel of Time.’ Now the fans of GoT know what was pinching inside their head each time they saw the old town. This place is ideal for the filming of a series which presents the old era. The location is recognized in the 4th episode of ‘Wheel of Time.’
Who is the actual Dragon reborn?
Out of the five folks Egwene can channel, Nynaeve brought Lan back to life using some mysterious “light.” Mat is feeling the darkness inside him taking over. Rand is still dull in the field, and so is Perrin. We are left to take our chances on guessing the Dragon reborn until the sequel comes.
The cast of ‘Wheel of Time’
Special appreciation to the entire cast. All the actors lived their roles. The cast includes Rosamund Pike as Moiraine Sedai, Madeleine Madden as Egwene, Zoë Robins as Nynaeve, Barney Harris as Mat, and Josha Stradowski as Rand; and more.
How long to wait for ‘Wheel of Time’ Season 2?
The crew is already filming the sequel of ‘Wheel of Time’ yet again in Prague. New locations added include Italy, Tenerife, and Morocco.
There is no official announcement of the release date. Therefore it seems like we gotta wait.
