March has arrived, and so have the various new offerings on Amazon Prime Video. The streaming platform has decided to release some original movies and TV shows this month. However, the number of new content hitting the platform is comparatively low this time around. Major Arrivals for Amazon Prime Video March 2022 Batch
Amazon Prime Video’s March 2022 release roster is running a bit lighter than the previous ones. Not a lot of new offerings will be gracing the streaming platform in March. While it may be a downer that the quantity of content is low this month, the streamer is set to make up for it by pushing some quality shows this time.
The Boys Presents: Diabolical (March 4)
One of the bigger IPs on the March roster is “The Boys”. While its highly anticipated third season won’t be arriving terribly soon, we are getting a taste of the show this month. The Boys Presents: Diabolical will follow the various characters from the original series and delve into their backstories. The voice cast includes Ben Schwartz, Seth Rogen, Awkwafina, Simon Pegg, among others. From all the promotional material we have seen so far, it seems to be a promising and worthy spin-off of the superhero show.
The trailer contains some truly gory and explicit content, maintaining the stylistic continuity. So get ready for another huge dose of unapologetic affair replete with gore, blood, and gallows humor. What’s more, is that we might get the chance to look at the origin stories of the main characters we’ve all come to love over the two seasons of the original series.
Lucy and Desi (March 4)
From the creative mindscape of comedian and actor Amy Poehler, Lucy and Desi arrive on Amazon Prime Video in March 2022. The documentary will be based on the real-life creative powerhouse that was the Hollywood couple of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. The documentary film follows the iconic 1950 couple from their sprouting phase to the bloom.
With archival footage and interviews woven together, the film follows the titular couple through their foundational years and how they came to be the legendary duo. The official synopsis for the documentary reads, “Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz form an unlikely partnership to become one of the most prolific power couples in Hollywood.”
Upload Season 2 (March 11)
The fun galore continues as the sophomore season of the hilarious and wickedly creative Upload is one of the highlight additions to the Amazon Prime Video March 2022 releases. The science-fiction comedy-drama premiered on the streamer back in May of 2020. It quickly grew to be a fan-favorite, who appreciated the premise of the show and much more.
The show is set in a fictional future where humans can upload themselves into a virtual afterlife shortly before they decease. This virtual afterlife serves as an immortal refuge for humans and gives their families a chance to visit them. The story follows Nathan, a computer programmer who dies prematurely. He gets uploaded to the very expensive Lake View. There, he finds himself with a new set of challenges, love, and a mystery involving his death.
Lizzo’s Watch Out For The Big Grrrls (March 25)
A fresh new addition to the March 2022 catalog of content coming to Amazon Prime Video comes courtesy of Lizzo. The pop-culture star is coming with a brand new reality TV show. The premise for the show involves Lizzo hunting for badass and confident women who’ll get a chance to join her on a world tour. Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls will run for a total of eight episodes.
Throughout these eight episodes, ten girls will compete with each other to bag the big prize. Who has it in her to shake a leg and break the stage to win the chance to collaborate with Lizzo? Tune into the streaming platform on March 25 to find out!
