What Remains of Edith Finch is a beautifully told magnetic tale that attracts all the audience towards the game. This story has been created by the Giant Sparrow, and the whole narrative is quite simple, but the way it is told is what captures the attention of the audience. Inside his world, we return to the family home in the form of Edith. This is the location where the Finch household has been living for centuries. They relocated here after their first house sank just around the shore when they shifted their household to Europe.
As we follow the character, Edith has actually come back in order to find out what has exactly happened to each member of this perennially unlucky family. As she enters the premise of her bloodline house, she walks around the place. The home has been built, reconstructed, and renovated over and over again to the point that now it looks exactly like a home from some Tim Burton film. Edith is standing still and reading stories about her ancestors. She is reading about each one of them left a specific impact on the members of the house as well as the community and how they all then died.

What Remains of Edith Finch Plot
The first person whom she reads about is Molly. Her story is the most bizarre and difficult to break down in this game, yet we have tried here a bit. How she died is told through her journal, which Edith comes across in her cupboard. As it so happens, Molly was sent onto the bed in her room without the evening supper. Obviously, the little kid becomes hungry and, in her quest, becomes a cat. As a cat, she chases a bird than an owl that swoops around and after rabbits. Later she transforms herself into a shark that hunts for the seal and then a sea monster that is even capable of eating people. Eventually, she comes back home to write about all of her experiences. Little did she know that the monster was already waiting for her under the bed.
Now, we know that monsters are not real so how she died is a mystery. The only possible explanation or a theory that we can think of is the fact that she ate some wild berries or poisoned food that led her to hallucinations while she was on her way to death. There are some other theories as well which suggest that Molly might actually be in a fever dream and then later die in her sleep. Or maybe when she went out of her window to look for food, she must have fallen down. It looked mostly like she hallucinated becoming all those animals and then died soon after penning it all down.

Then we have the story of Odin. This one is quite simple and easy to explain. The tale also acknowledges how the Finch house was formed and how the members came together under the same roof. Initially, Odin left Europe in order to escape the family curse. It was exactly when his house wrecked off the coast of Washington and drowned him in the process. He had a daughter named Edie, and her husband Sven, along with Molly, survived the accident. After grieving for the loss, they started building the house in which Edith is standing right now. Odin is the first member of the Finch family who was buried in the new Finch cemetery.
Then the story spanned over to Calvin. He is another one of Edith’s grandfathers who died when they were little. As for him, Calvin was just 11 years in age when he died, and his story is narrated through a series of poems or a short story penned down by his brother Sam. This really touched the hearts of many people in the game. As for Calvin, he always dreamt of going to the top of the branch in order to witness the sea but was always afraid to do so. But after their sister Barbara died, the kids decided that they would not be afraid of doing anything, and thus, Calvin set forth for his journey and entered a fatal accident. It was very emotional as he died overcoming his fears.
