People today choose to believe social media platforms, far more than what they’ve really seen or known. But what happens if you make a mistake? That’s usual for us laymen to do it and then amend it, but I’m sure we can all picture the havoc a single error by an idol may cause, right? For a renowned icon, one statement scribbled over it might get them severely trolled, or it can garner them tremendous affection for one wonderful moment. On March 9th, something similar happened with Lizzy. Continue reading to find out what the Instagram post was about and whether or not the idol is safe.
Born in Busan, South Korea, Park Soo-ah, popularly known by her stage name Lizzy, is a South Korean actress and singer. She made her debut in March 2020 as a member of the girl band After School. She is also well-known for her great acting roles such as ‘All My Children’ and ‘Angry Mom.’ Even when her contract expired, the K-pop idol continued to work as a singer. In 2015, she made her solo debut with ‘Not an easy girl.’ Enough about her let’s head back to Lizzy’s cryptic Instagram post.
On March 9th, ‘After School’ songstress posted an Instagram photo. The message featured a snapshot of Ariel from Disney’s ‘The Little Mermaid,’ with the phrase “Goodbyeee my life.” Fans were astounded and bewildered by the message. They went insane attempting to solve the unimaginable dilemma they were in. Was she attempting to take her own life?
What Was LIZZY’s Instagram Post About?
The first bizarre thing that came to her followers’ minds was obviously the worst-case scenario. They were constantly trying to know whether she was alright or not. Considering the recent pattern in which various K-pop celebrities attempted to express their sorrow through Instagram postings but were not taken seriously, the devastating result was the announcement of their demise. Thus, in order to avoid further casualties, not just Lizzy’s fans but also the whole K-pop fanbase awaited a clear analysis of what had just occurred.
We’re all too aware of how wild fan theories can sometimes be. When they saw the Little Mermaid post, they tried to imitate James Bond and devised a scenario in which she may take the risky step of killing herself, like Ariel did, in order to live on land. Another fan hypothesis claimed that this was undoubtedly connected to her previous year’s controversy, in which she was significantly penalized for drinking and driving.
Fortunately, she soon edited the post and proceeded to explain that her fans misinterpreted the contentment she was sharing with grief. She emphasized that she is looking forward to a new chapter in her life. So the piece wasn’t about her, but about a phase in her life when she was moving towards a brighter tomorrow. She eventually apologized for alarming her followers and expressed gratitude for their concern for her. The uproar among fans calmed down after the updated version of the post, but only halfway; many fans were still concerned and rushed to Twitter to urge that the singer be checked out so that another tragedy may be prevented when the indications are so obvious.
LIZZY’s 2021 Scandal
Of course, everyone has highs and lows in their lives. Sometimes we are unable to get a scene out of our heads, and in quest of comfort, we turn to temporary escapes such as alcohol, drugs, and so on. Unfortunately for the singer, she was engaged in a terrible accident during one of her lowest points. Fortunately, no one was fatally injured, but it was a nightmare for the actress and cost her quite a fortune.
Last year in October, Lizzy was engaged in a drunk driving accident at the Yeongdongdaegyo Bridge in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The K-pop star was involved in an accident with a cab that was ahead of her. Lizzy was arrested immediately after testing positive for 0.08 percent blood alcohol. It was eventually found that she truly regretted what she has done and also cooperated decently with the investigation. Not only this, she graciously accepted her fate through trial.
Furthermore, she later turned to Instagram to apologize for the event and asked her followers to forgive her for disappointing them.
Was Lizzy’s post really misunderstood or is she hiding something that fans should be concerned about?
