Do you guys remember the Big Three Animes? Let me refresh your memory, the Big Three Anime refers to the three anime that are popular and very long-running. Naruto, One Piece, and Bleach hold the current position in it. However, with new anime emerging with an awesome storyline and animation, there are already rumors surrounding the new Big Three. And guess who made the cut for the same? It is none other than My Hero Academia, along with Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen. In this article, we would be answering the question as to what anime is Todoroki from? Is he from My Hero Academia? Along with that, we would also look into the character in general and try to understand his abilities or powers.
The Big Three Anime was based on public opinion. Their likeness towards the anime and the length of the series is what made them choose from literally thousands of anime out there. But, it was also based on the storyline, characters, and animation. For example, Naruto has many strong characters and they did not just give him the power at the beginning, Naruto had to work for it and train and trust the Nine-Tailed Beast inside him for support whenever necessary. And just like that, the future Big Three’s will be chosen too. The ones we mentioned earlier were just what the people assume the next Big Three would be. Now, with that aside let us now look at what anime is Todoroki from? Is he from My Hero Academia? Let’s find out.
The Story Of My Hero Academia
In the universe of Boku No Hero Academia, many people have special abilities called quirks. These quirks can be of low risk to superhuman capabilities. However, not everyone is born with quirks. Sometimes the quirks don’t manifest even if both the parents have quirks. Just like in the case of Izuku Midoriya. His mother has a quirk to pull small objects towards her from a significant distance. We don’t know who his father is as of now in the anime. Now Deku (Midoriya) is a huge fan of All Might and wished to be just like him when he grew up. Upon hearing that he does not have any quirk, he is visibly crushed and his dreams of becoming like his idol are also crushed.
While Kachan was going through an alley with his friends, they are attacked by a villain. As it turns out, he is much stronger than Kachan. All Might goes looking for the bottle in which he captured that villain and finds him capturing Bakugo. While there are several heroes on-site, none of them could defeat him, and decided to wait for a hero with an appropriate quirk to defeat him. All Might stood there helpless calling himself pathetic. Just then Deku happens to walk by and also witness that villain who had attacked him earlier and was ultimately saved by All Might.
Midoriya thinks that it was his fault that All Might lost the bottle which ultimately led to the villain capture Bakugo. Without thinking for a second, Midoriya’s body moves on its own. He jumps into the battle to save Bakugo. Seeing this, All Might takes up his form and defeats the villain. On his way back, he is once again confronted by All Might who tells him that even he can become a hero. After training with All Might to build his body and confidence, he ingests one of All Might’s hair which will ultimately give him the One For All quirk.
After glancing at the heading above, you might have probably figured out what anime is Todoroki from? But in case you haven’t, Todoroki is from My Hero Academia anime. Shoto Tododroki is the son of Number 2 Hero, Endeavor. However, he hates his father for many reasons. Endeavor is a person who aims to be at the top and wants to surpass All Might. In doing so, he forgets how to treat his fans and fellow citizens and just thinks about saving them. And in turn, he gets distant from his family too. All he could think about is making a perfect version of himself in his children. Todoroki’s mother (Rei) has some sort of Ice Quirk and this along with Endeavor’s Hell Flame would, in theory, make their children unstoppable.
Endeavor put a lot of pressure on Todoroki and made him work to his bone. This along with the constant mental pressure he put his wife through, resulted in the family falling apart. Rei was constantly abused by his husband in trying to save her children from all the torment and thought training he put them to. But those years of abuse caught up to her, she became mentally ill as she resented her own children for looking like Endeavor. In one such incident, she threw boiling hot water at Todoroki’s face and left him with a scar for his life.
Talking about Tododroki’s quirk, he can use both ice and fire-making him a Half-Cold-Half-Hot. However, he absolutely despises his father for obvious reasons and chooses to only rely on his mother’s side of the quirk and rarely his father’s quirk. However, Todoroki is trying to forgive his father and also using his side of the quirk to make him even stronger.
The answer as to what anime is Todoroki from, now you know that is My Hero Academia or as many know it as Boku No Hero Academia. Todoroki’s quirk is surely unique as he can use both the quirks of his parents and not just a dominant quirk or the mix of both quirks. This is what Endeavor aimed for and thus put a lot of pressure on Todoroki to be perfect. He eventually reached a breaking point and despised his father. Currently, in the anime, Todoroki is starting to forgive his father and Endeavor too is making efforts to be the father he should have been but never was.
