Hanako is actually a spirit who lives in the girl’s bathroom located on the third floor of Kamome Academy. Specifically, he lives in the third stall of that bathroom. There are several rumors surrounding Hanako Kun, one being that he appears when someone knocks on the bathroom thrice and grants them a wish. Kamome Academy has Seven Mysteries, which are overlooked by Hanako. When he was human, he attended the same school. He even had an older twin brother. The main role of Hanako Kun in Kamome Academy is to maintain peace between humans and the Seven Mysteries of the school.
Personality-wise, Hanako Kun is cheerful and even notorious at times. He teases those around him especially and even acts like a pervert at times. We can often see him blush too. Hanako (Japanese Kanji: 花子) is one of the main characters from the anime titled ‘Toilet Bound Hanako Kun’. The character’s real name is Yugi Amane (Japanese Kanji: 柚木普). Toilet Bound Hanako Kun tells the story of Nene, a young girl enthusiastic about the occult and tries to find out more about the Seven Mysteries of Kamome Academy. She tries to summon Hanako san, who is rumored to be the ghost of a girl but is surprised to find that it is actually a boy. But when she gets spiritually bound to Hanako Kun, she has no choice but to become his assistant and help him fight evil spirits to maintain the balance between the human realm and the supernatural.
