Synopsis: Jujutsu Kaisen 

A comedy, action, adventure, and supernatural anime, Jujutsu Kaisen follows the story of high schooler Itadori Yuuji. Itadori spends his days in the clubroom indulging in idle paranormal activities with the Occult Club. However, when he unwittingly comes upon a cursed object, his peaceful existence takes a weird turn. After eating the cursed object, it is revealed to be a finger belonging to the demon Sukuna Ryoumen, the “King of Curses”. Yuuji finds himself forced into the world of Curses—dreadful entities born by human hate and negativity—triggering a sequence of extraordinary events. Being introduced to a world secret to human society, Itadori begins his perilous journey as a Jujutsu Sorcerer.

Season 1  

The first season of Jujutsu Kaisen was released on 3 October 2020 and aired till 27 March 2021. The 1st season is 24 episodes long, with each episode spanning a time of 23 minutes. It has been rated 17+ due to the depiction of violence and profanity. It has been given an 8.7/10 rating on IMBD, with 95% of google users liking the anime.

Upcoming Projects  

So far, there has been no announcement regarding the release of season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen. However, at the end of season 1, the makers created suspense by releasing a teaser of an upcoming movie.

On 13 June 2021, the official Twitter account finally confirmed the release date of the movie to be 24th December 2021.

Who is Satoru Gojo?

Satoru Gojo is one of the protagonists of Jujutsu Kaisen and, like other sorcerers, wants to keep the world safe from the Cursed Spirits that afflict it. Gojo regards the structure of the Jujutsu Sorcerer society as faulty and seeks to improve it. Thus, he serves as a teacher at Jujutsu High, a school committed to the development of new generations of Jujutsu Sorcerers, to achieve his goal.

In the Japanese version of the anime adaption, he is portrayed by Yuichi Nakamura, but in the English version, he is voiced by Kaiji Tang.

Should you watch the JJK?

As of now, the anime is fairly recent, with only the first season aired, which won it the ‘Anime of the Year Award’ in the 5th Crunchyroll Anime Awards held on 20 February 2021. The nominees for the award among JJK were ‘Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken,’ ‘Great Pretender,’ ‘Appare- Ranman,’ ‘Dorohedoro,’ and ‘Beastars’. Additionally, the award for the Best Antagonist in Anime Awards 2021 was given to Ryomen Sukuna. The nominees among Sukuna for the award were ‘En’ from Dorohedoro, ‘Rachel’ from Tower of God, ‘Echidna’ from RE: Zero- Starting in Another World (Season 2), ‘Overhaul’ from Boku No Hero Academia, and ‘Akito Soma’ from Fruits Basket (Season 2).

It is clear that despite being fairly new, JJK has gained enormous popularity and various achievements. This alone is a testament to the fact that JJK has an element that has gained itself such recognition. We believe JJK is definitely worth your time.
