DEFAMATION
While Amber Heard will have to pay $10.35 million, the judge reduced the number of damages.
Depp was found to defame Heard on one of three claims, and because of that, Heard will be awarded $2 million in damages.
"It is a strange result, Johnny Depp won all three of his defamation claims, and Amber Heard won one of her counterclaims." lawyer and legal analyst Emily D. Baker said.
David Glass, the former psychologist and family law attorney, said the result was "Very Unexpected."
"It means that the jury found that each of them was telling the truth. But it's clearly in favor of Johnny Depp because the jury just did not believe anything that Amber Heard had said." David added.
The former L.A. deputy district attorney Emily D. Baker explains the decisions of the Jury.
"The jury awarded $10 million in compensatory damages to Johnny Depp [and] $5 million in punitive, that was reduced by the court already because Virginia does not allow more than $350,000 in punitive damages"
