Sakae Esuno’s manga series Future Diary (Mirai Nikki) is a Japanese manga series that he wrote and drew.
Kadokawa Shoten published the manga, which was initially serialized in the Japanese shonen manga magazine Shonen Ace on January 26, 2006. All About Mirai Nikki (Future Diary)
Yukiteru, a lonely loner, spends most of his time on his phone writing a journal. His lone companion is a divinity named Deus Ex Machina, who exists only in his imagination. Deus, who proved to be real, now wants to play a survival game with Yukiteru. Yukiteru is the first of a total of twelve candidates. The winner of the Survival Game will become the god of time and space, succeeding Deus Ex Machina. The players must use their diaries to remove each other and be the last guy remaining in order to win the game. Yukiteru will have to work with another diary keeper, a girl named Yuno, if he is to live.
Based on the sequence in which Deus updated each player’s journal, a number is allocated to them. The diaries now describe the future in the same way that their future selves would have written down events that have already occurred; the only exception is when the bearer reaches a “Dead End,” a point in time when their lives would end without considerable intervention. Depending on the holder’s personality, career, and lifestyle, each diary has different qualities and uses. All of the diaries have advantages and disadvantages, some more so than others, and they can be used without the approval of the diary owner if they fall into the wrong hands. Although the journals are written from the perspective of the holder’s future self, the future may be misinterpreted, leading to incorrect diary entries. Each diary has become the holder’s future, thus if the diary is destroyed or broken, the holder’s future is also destroyed or shattered, resulting in their death.
What Should You Watch First?
First and foremost, you must see Mirai Nikki (Future Diary). Watching the original series first will give you a better understanding of the narrative and setting, as well as the rules of the diary game, and will establish the tone for the whole anime. It was based on the final chapter of the Mirai Nikki manga and concludes any loose ends left over after the original anime’s ending two years later. After the Diary Games, Mirai Nikki: Redial examines the protagonists’ relationships. With a running length of only around 25 minutes, this OVA may easily be used as a bonus concluding episode.
A Little Something Extra
If you’ve seen the original anime and the OVA and still want more Mirai Nikki, there’s a very brief OVA available, however, it doesn’t include much new material. The first OVA was released in 2010 as part of the manga’s eleventh volume. It’s barely eight minutes long, and it’s more of a promo for the Mirai Niki anime than a stand-alone OVA. Before the original anime was aired in 2011, the majority of what is shown here was only animated bits of the manga. Mirai Nikki Manga
If you fell in love with Mirai Nikki but are unhappy that the anime is done, you may read her manga, which is just as engaging as the anime. The opening theme for episodes fifteen and onwards is Faylan’s “Dead END,” with Yousei Teikoku’s “filament” serving as the ending theme. “Madness Children” is the OVA’s opening theme, and “Happy End” by Faylan is the OVA’s ending theme.
Will There Be A Season 2?
Unfortunately, Mirai Nikki will not have a second season. In both the original anime and Mirai Nikki: Redial, the tale is neatly wound up, utilizing all of the manga’s chapters. As a result, there isn’t enough substance in the manga for a second season to be released. It’s disheartening for all of the fans out there, but it can’t be helped. We don’t expect any new Mirai Nikki content in the near future until the series is restarted or relaunched.
